Service bulletins for the 2021 Peterbilt 579
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
117 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| E294 | 2022-06-02. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Information Only - This bulletin is to provide information about the availability of a fuel filter set for Pre-Production or Validation level chassis. This fuel filter set is available directly from a PACCAR dealership parts department. |
| 42-060 | 2022-06-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Fix-As-Fail – If a customer comes into your dealership and demonstrates the condition above, replace the fan clutch adapter harness with the improved harness and clear the DTCs. |
| 04-019 | 2022-05-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. A roof fairing reinforcement kit increases structural support for one-piece 579 roof fairings that are experiencing fatigue from external forces such as reverse towing. |
| E290 | 2022-04-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This bulletin provides information on the EPA21 MX fuel injector cleaning procedure and includes suggested fuel system cleaning fluids. This procedure also provides information to determine if it is necessary to replace the fuel injectors. |
| E286 | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM:INJECTORS; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. Fix-As-Requested - Engine Model Year 2021B and later PACCAR MX-11 & MX-13 Fuel Injector Adjustment During First C Service |
| TIB 98-020 | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Information Only – New Level 1 required tools are available to support MY21B MX engines. |
| 13-057 | 2022-04-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; SERVICE BRAKES, AIR; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Fix-As-Fail – A hill start assist (HSA) valve plumbing revision eliminates ice buildup in the HSA valve exhaust in cold weather. |
| 51-013 | 2022-03-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Due to major data carriers phasing out 3G networks, chassis currently utilizing first generation Peoplenet Mobile Gateway (PMG001) will experience severe 3G service degradation as early as January of 2022. Chassis currently utilizing 3G antennas as a primary antenna may experience this degradation. |
| 34-090 | 2022-03-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. A frame mounted left-hand marker light bracket interferes with the rear fuel tank fill location. A redesigned bracket can be purchased that relocates the marker bracket to the front fuel tank bracket to eliminate interference. |
| 22PBA | 2022-03-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Safety Recall – Chassis Fairings with integrated cab step may become loose, allowing minor unintended movement and risk of injury while entering and exiting the cab. The repair procedure and parts information will be added when parts are available. |
| 21PBN | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Interim Safety Recall – Methane detection system will not warn the operator if the system loses power. The driver could be unaware of an issue with the methane detection system or excessive methane present, increasing the risk of a fire, crash and/or personal injury. The repair procedure will be added when it is available. |
| T012 | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Non-Safety Campaign: Drivers of vehicles equipped with PACCAR TX-12 transmissions may experience harsh shifts and gear grinding noise. Premature Main Drive Gear damage may occur due to clutch housing and main case countershaft bearing bore wear. |
| 21PBM | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Safety Recall – Work Brake May Unintentionally Disengage – NHTSA ID: 21V906, TC: 2021-713. The work brake (also known as winch brake) may unintentionally disengage during winching operations, releasing the service brakes, increasing the risk of crash or injury. The VECU software will be updated to correctly set the speed interlock parameter. |
| 34-091 | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Non-Safety Campaign – An incorrectly set VECU software parameter is causing the running lamps to be inactive for certain, US registered, model year 2021 579 chassis. The parameter can be correctly set by reflashing the VECU with updated software. |
| 26-038 | 2022-01-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Non-Safety Campaign: Eaton Endurant transmissions may experience premature Main Drive Gear damage due to clutch housing and main case countershaft bearing bore wear. A Clutch Housing Front Cover Kit will be installed to address the issue. |
