POWER TRAIN. 2018-2019 SENTRA, VERSA SEDAN, AND VERSA NOTE; ENHANCED DIAGNOSTIC LOGIC FOR CVT IF YOU CONFIRM The customer reports a transmission judder (shake, shudder, single or multiple bumps or vibration), hesitation on acceleration, lack of power, or RPM flare. NOTE: • A new diagnostic logic has been established to enhance the diagnostic process by storing a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on Applied Vehicles. • New DTCs: P17F0, P17F1, P17F2, P17F3, P17F4 will not turn the MIL ON. • New DTC P0868 will turn the MIL ON. • This new diagnostic logic will monitor conditions in the CVT while the customer is operating their vehicle in their usual daily drive patterns. • If any of the above DTCs are stored, refer to NTB20-035 (Sentra) or NTB20-036 (Versa Sedan and Versa Note) for repair information. ACTION 1. Confirm the current TCM part number. 2. Reprogram the TCM, if applicable

P9336 2018-20192020-01-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Engine Control Module (ECM) Reprogram Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign ***** Campaign Summary***** Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign on approximately 30,528 specific MY2018-19 Versa Note (E12) vehicles identified in Service Comm to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) to remedy issues related to grill shutter malfunction detection and Permanent-Diagnostic Trouble Code (P-DTC) clearing. The affected vehicles are equipped with an improperly calibrated ECM that in some situations may not illuminate the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) as required for a grille shutter malfunction, and thus may not properly detect a grille shutter malfunction. Additionally, the calibration may not allow a P-DTC to clear when it should, which may prevent successful completion of an Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) test in California. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History – Open Campaigns I.D. P9336. 2. Dealers should remedy any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction. • - New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). • - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information 3. Dealers should use NTB19-112 to correct any vehicles subject to this campaign. 4. Once remedied, dealers should submit the claim, using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2018-2019 VERSA NOTE; ENGINE CONTROL MODULE INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions service campaign on certain specific model year 2018-2019 Versa Note vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) will be inspected, and reprogrammed if applicable. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number P9336 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY Dealers are to repair vehicles falling within range of this emissions service campaign that enter the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties, vehicles presented by transient (tourists) owners, and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory.
