Service bulletins for the 2016 Nissan Titan

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

304 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

NTB24-0612025-02-10. Emissions. ENGINE. VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 2016-2017 TITAN XD DIESEL; PM SENSOR INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign on certain specific model year 2016-2017 Titan XD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, to install a Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor and reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM). This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PD128 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.
PC864_PC854 20162022-11-12. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Turbo Actuator/High-Pressure Turbocharger Emission Warranty Extension Dealer Notification *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. Therefore, Nissan is extending the emission warranty coverage on MY16 Titan XD Titan Turbo Actuator and High-Pressure Turbocharger to 10 Years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. All other warranty terms, limitations, and conditions remain unchanged. Certain MY16 TITAN XD Diesel vehicles may experience issues with the Turbo Actuator or the High-Pressure Turbocharger. Over time, a solder crack may develop in the Turbo Actuator and/or carbon build-up is possible on the High-Pressure Turbocharger Compressor. The most likely conditions are a MIL-On with DTC P00AF and/or DTC P0299. These issues have no effect on vehicle safety, drivability, or fuel economy. There could be a decrease in performance if either condition were to occur. During the limited emission warranty extension period, owners are eligible for free replacement of the Turbo Actuator and High-Pressure Turbocharger if either is determined to be required by a Nissan trained technician. Owners of eligible vehicles will receive notification of this limited emission warranty extension during November 2022. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are eligible for this Warranty Extension using the warranty extension page of Service Comm. 2. If a customer contacts the dealer with a Turbo Actuator or High-Pressure Turbocharger concern in an owned or leased vehicle, dealers should use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns.
