Service bulletins for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

LI40.10-P-0592482026-07-24. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; WHEELS. Complaint Crackling and cracking noise from the outer wheel on the front axle when cornering Cause The noise is generated by a micromovement on the contact surface between the rim and the brake disk (wheel bolt group) and may be intensified by potential soiling. The more lightweight rim (AMG forged rim) transmits the noise louder; in the case of cast rims, the noise is generally not perceptible. This is not a technical defect, but rather a complaint concerning comfort. Safe operation of the vehicle is ensured at all times. Remedy Important note: The operations described below do not represent a permanent remedy in every case. The noise may reoccur again after an indefinite period of time; sanding the rims with abrasive media multiple times is not permissible. Only cleaning using the Hazet tool 4960-160 (recommendation) can be performed without any concerns each time the wheel is changed or if the complaint reoccurs. Replacing the parts (rim, wheel bolts, wheel bearings, wheel hub, brake disk) is not expedient in the event of this complaint. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clean the components of the wheel bolt connection according to the WIS instructions Sand down the rim and brake disk bowl by performing the following steps: • Manually sand rim (old design only) in area of water drain bores (Figure 1; item A), approx. 1.5 cm left and right of water drain bore (Figure 2) Note: Use abrasive paper with grit size 80. The grooving in this area should no longer be visible (sand down approx. 0.1-0.2mm) • Also sand brake disk bowl using emery cloth or abrasive paper with a grain size of 120 • For vehicles equipped with the AMG ceramic brake system (B07), abrasive paper may not be used for cleaning on the brake disk side Note: Do not use any cleaning agent when cleaning on the rim side. Cleaning using abrasive paper with a grain size of 80 will suffice. Do not apply any grease, lubricant or paste after cleaning The brake disk bowl should be "bare metal" in the area of the imprints made by the hole (Figure 3)
LI88.50-P-0802632026-07-14. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint The trunk lid does not open or close completely and must be operated manually by the customer. The following fault codes are stored in the PTCM control unit: • P1CA000 • B188C2A Cause If the trunk lid is repeatedly opened manually or the vehicle has experienced undervoltage, the trunk lid loses its normalization due to faulty software coding. Remedy For vehicles with a production date up to 01/22/26 (SL (232)) or 01/27/26 (GT (192)) 1. Update the HKS N121/1 control unit and perform SCN coding. (If no new software is available, still perform SCN coding) 2. Perform normalization of component 'N121/1 (Liftgate control control unit)'. Vehicles produced from January 22, 2026 (SL (232)) and January 27, 2026 (GT (192)) onward were factory-fitted with the correct Software Calibration Number Table.
LI67.30-P-0784682026-07-14. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint Creaking/cracking sounds detectable in upper area of the side window panes Cause A locating rivet used during vehicle production to hold the side window pane in the correct position relative to the body- in-white. Remedy The rivet can be removed as follows: 1. Loosen upper molded part of seal from B-pillar bar and body-in-white flange → CAREFUL: Do not pull off too far (attachment 1). 2. Secure rivet set on back with butyl ball so that it does not become lost during next operation steps. Protect glass using doubled-up adhesive tape (attachment 2). 3. Bore rivet head from outside (drill bit diameter 8mm) and suction off shavings at the same time → CAREFUL: Avoid shavings falling between B-pillar bar and seal (attachment 3). Drive remaining rivet inward with a punch (d=3mm) (attachment 4) and remove. The butyl ball from Step 2 prevents it from falling down. 4. Seal opening formed by bored rivet head with a butyl ball d=4mm from inside to outside (attachment 5). Seal sanding spot at B-pillar bar against corrosion with black touch-up paint pen. 5. Fix seal in place at B-pillar bar again.

LI67.30-P-0803432026-03-11. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint Wind noises in the area of the mirror triangle on the front doors/side window panes Cause Potential causes: • Adjustment of the side window panes • Adjustment of the doors • Influence of seals • Influence of assembly Remedy • If the wind noises only occur on one side: Perform comparison of right/left of the window and door adjustment • If necessary, correct window and door adjustment according to WIS. For the windows, observe the insertion depth in the Z position and the Y position on the mirror triangle in particular. • Check inner seal for deformations. To do so, observe attachment 1 and attachment 2. If a deformation (waviness) can be ascertained: Replace seal or reform back into place using heat and fix in place using cold. • Check outer sealing rail to vertical sealing lip of the mirror triangle. To do so, observe attachment 3. If the sealing rail collides with the vertical sealing lip of the mirror triangle: Either route it such that it rests above the vertical sealing lip of the mirror triangle or shorten. • Check external sealing rail for correct assembly. To do this, ensure that it is engaged into the three existing mounting straps on the door. See Attachment 4. Also ensure that the outer sealing rail is correctly positioned in the x-direction and closes off flush. See Attachments 5 and 6 for this. Also ensure during assembly that the outer sealing rail is inserted beneath the mirror triangle. See Attachment 7. • Check the inner seal, especially in the mirror triangle area, for correct assembly. See Attachment 8.

To do so, carry out the following steps. 1. Open rear-end door 2. Check position of the spring dampers on the right and left 3. Unscrew incorrectly positioned spring dampers to a distance of 3 mm (see attached photo). Important: Check and ensure the closing force of the rear-end door after unscrewing. 4. Check rear bumper and the rear-end door for paint damage. Selectively rework noticeable problems or paint damage.
LI77.25-P-0737492024-11-12. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Rear spoiler sporadically remains in opened position or does not extend and a fault message appears in the instrument cluster. The rear spoiler can then no longer be retracted manually using the button. The function of the rear spoiler is re-established after an ignition reset and the fault message is no longer present in the instrument cluster. Cause Possible causes: • Coding of the AMG DRIVE UNIT for recognition of Hall sensor when retracting rear spoiler. • Hardware tolerances / hardware wear Remedy If new software for the AMG DRIVE UNIT is available, carry out the software update. If the vehicle already has the most current version of the AMG DRIVE UNIT software installed, conduct SCN coding of the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Software remedy: Up to YoM 19/2 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6208 As of YoM 20/1 up to YoM 20/2 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6108 As of YoM 21/1 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6008 Then check the currently learned actual values under the path "DRVU -> Actual values -> Rear wing sensor system": Are the actual values all in the specified range (green): --> Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If the actual values are outside of the specified range (red) or final inspection is not OK: --> Initialize the rear spoiler (if necessary up to 5x) until all values are in the target range (green). If subsequently OK: -> Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If still not OK: -> Check screw connection of rear spoiler adjuster (see attachment 1) for tight seating. If screws loose: -> Bond loose screw (see following steps and attachment 3 to 5). 1. Unscrew screw with Torx TX25 screwdriver from the housing guide. 2. Dip screw in Loctite 603 (at least 3 threads) 3. Screw the screw back into the housing guide with 2 Nm torque. (IMPORTANT: Loctite 603 finger-tight after 8 minutes and cured after 24 hours) 4. Initialize rear spoiler after the curing time. 5. Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If screws tight: -> Create a TIPS case with the following information: 1. When exactly does the fault message appear (at which speed, when accelerating or braking, automatic mode, etc.)? 2. Is the problem sporadic or continuous? 3. Does the fault message disappear following an ignition reset/BUS idle and is the function of the rear spoiler then (momentarily) restored? 4. Is the fault reproducible and if so, how? Attach the following files: 1. Quick test 2. Control unit log for AMG DRIVE UNIT + rear wing (DRVU + HFL) 3. IC event memory 4. Currently learned actual values prior to initialization 5. Complaint Creaking noises/cracking detectable in upper area of side window panes Cause A rivet fixing position of side window pane relative to body-in-white in place during production process Remedy The rivet can be removed as follows: 1. Loosen upper molded part of seal from B-pillar bar and body-in-white flange -> CAREFUL: Do not pull off too far (attachment 1). 2. Secure rivet set on back with butyl ball so that it does not become lost during next operation steps. Protect glass using doubled-up adhesive tape (attachment 2). 3. Bore rivet head from outside (drill bit diameter 8mm) and suction off shavings at the same time -> CAREFUL: Avoid shavings falling between B-pillar bar and seal (attachment 3).
LI98.00-P-0781062024-09-11. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint Damage or discoloration to paint protection films on vehicle. Cause Chip protection films are a wear item that may need to be replaced over the life of the vehicle. They are typically not covered by vehicle warranty. Remedy To properly install a paint/chip protection film, please follow the below guidelines: #1 - Utilize a solution that is 0.2% soap solution (1,000ml of water + 2ml of liquid soap). #2 - Clean the paint surface and ensure it is dust-free. #2a - When cleaning, you can utilize isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) to assist with cleaning. #2b - We recommend a lint-free rag for secondary dusting. #3 - Wet hands with the soapy water solution to protect the adhesive surface. #4 - Remove the backing paper from the film completely. #5 - Moisten the vehicle surface with the soapy water. You can also lay the protective film with adhesive side out onto the wetted surface to also cover the adhesive layer in the soapy water solution. #6 - Remove film and flip over to gently place adhesive side against the paint surface. #7 - Working from the center out, use a squeegee to press the soapy water solution out from under the film. Use sufficient pressure to firmly press the film into the paint surface, but not an excessive amount to damage or stretch the film. #8 - Allow film and paint to "cure" until all of the moisture has evaporated. At this time the adhesive should be dried and cured enough for sufficient hold to release the vehicle.
