Service bulletins for the 2018 Mazda Mazda6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-065-22 | 2022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles equipped with a coolant control valve may exhibit difficulties when refilling the coolant because the control valve is closed and air in the engine cannot escape during ignition ON. Therefore, turn the ignition OFF when refilling engine coolant using the radiator filler neck. |
|---|---|
| SA-008-22a | 2022-11-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection. |
| 09-032-22a | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may experience the seat ventilation system still on after the engine has been turned off, in some cases this causes the battery to be completely discharged and not rechargeable. This is caused by a deterioration in the seat ventilation control unit. To eliminate this concern, the material for the circuit of the seat ventilation control unit has been modified. |
| 09-021-22 | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may exhibit a malfunction where the touch screen operates by itself (ghost touch). An example ghost touch would be the map on the center display scrolls without touching it. This is caused by heat expansion and contraction of the center display deforming and loosening the touch panel, resulting in an increased wire resistance. To eliminate this concern, a protection film has been added in the touch panel to prevent deformation. |
| 01-010-22 | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may experience a squeaking noise may be heard from the exhaust manifold when the idle speed drops from fast idle to normal idle speed during cold start. This is caused by a variable valve being stuck in the closed position. When returning from fast idle to normal, the stuck valve suddenly opens due to thermal change around it which causes abnormal noise. To eliminate this concern, the internal design of the exhaust manifold has been modified. |
| SA-041-22c | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:VIDEO (TOUCH)SCREEN/MONITOR/UNIT. Some customers may complain about infotainment center display: - Ghost Touch (Touch screen operates by itself) - Spider Cracks - Surface Peeling - White dots |
| RF-22-01 | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:VIDEO (TOUCH)SCREEN/MONITOR/UNIT. Some customers may complain about infotainment center display ghost touch (touch screen operates by itself), surface peeling or spider cracks. Repair kits are available to replace just the screen. There is no need to replace the entire infotainment display unit as the supply chain has been heavily impacted due to the global shortage of semiconductors. |
| 09-032-22 | 2022-09-06. |
| 01-008-22 | 2022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may experience a lack of power and the check engine light on with DTC P061B:00 stored in PCM memory under one of the following conditions (A or B). - DTC P061B:00 - [PCM] Internal control module torque calculation performance problem. Condition Condition Description A When cranking is interrupted (likely occurs when the brake pedal is released during cranking) B When accelerating from 1300-1600 rpm with wide open throttle Due to an improper control logic of the PCM, the engine torque calculation error detection is too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified. |
| SA-041-22 | 2022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about infotainment center display: - Ghost Touch (Touch screen operates by itself) - Surface Peeling - Spider Cracks Repair kits are available to replace just the screen. There is no need to replace the entire infotainment display unit. |
| SA-001-22d | 2022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Use the symptom troubleshooting tables below to diagnose MAZDA CONNECT concerns. |
| 09-024-22 | 2022-08-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. |
| 09-017-22a | 2022-07-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may have rust on the contact parts between the clips (for attaching the roof molding) and the roof panel (ditches of the roof rail). This is caused by the gap between the roof molding attachment clips and the roof panel not being wide enough to allow paint to be appropriately applied to the roof panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the roof molding clip has been changed to enable paint application between the clip's rib and roof during the manufacturing process. |
| 01-007-22 | 2022-07-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may have coolant leaks at the cylinder head around the exhaust manifold (as shown below). There may be cracks at the stud bolt hole or at the outside of the exhaust manifold. Cracks may be caused by: - Deformation of the exhaust manifold during usage causing unexpected force to certain areas of the cylinder head. - Residual stress generated during production in the cylinder head material may be greater than expected. The external force from the exhaust system when driving over bumps may cause unexpected force to certain areas of the cylinder head. To eliminate this concern, the design of the exhaust manifold gasket and the cylinder head has been modified to reduce the force on the cylinder head. |
| 01-006-22 | 2022-07-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This service bulletin provides testing and charging procedures in order to promote proper battery maintenance, to deliver new vehicles with fully charged batteries, and to reduce unnecessary battery replacement cost. For new vehicles in stock at the dealer, inspect and maintain the battery periodically according to the repair procedure. |
| SA-041-22 | 2022-07-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may complain about infotainment center display: Ghost touch, surface peeling, spider cracks. | 05-001-22 | 2022-05-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may complain of a shift shock felt when shifting into 3rd, 5th and/or R range with no A/T related DTC stored. The symptom can be temporarily repaired by A/T initial learning procedure, but may recur after multiple driving cycles. Applicable situations: *Shifting up: 2-3, (4-5) *Shifting down: 4-3, (6-5) NOTE: (4-5) and (6-5) are felt more than others due to the gear ratio. *Shifting into R: D-R, N-R, P-R Improper control logic of the TCM may cause improper learning of R-3-5 brake engaging speed during certain driving situations. To correct this concern, the control logic of the TCM has been modified. |
