Service bulletins for the 2016 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SA-050-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some customers may complain that their liftgate does not open. This can mean a range of things, from the liftgate not unlatching to the power liftgate (PLG) not opening automatically. If you confirm that the customer's concern is that the liftgate does not unlatch correctly, follow the repair information below
09-044-16-32272017-02-15. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE:LOCK. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A CONDITION IN EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURES (BELOW FREEZING) WHERE THE HATCHBACK WILL NOT LATCH (HALF LATCH) WHEN CLOSING. THIS IS CAUSED BY THE STOPPER RUBBER, A COMPONENT OF THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR (A), HARDENING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING. THE STOPPER RUBBER HAS NOW BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN.
SA2652017-02-15. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. TO MINIMIZE THEFT DURING TRANSPORTATION, THE SECONDARY KEY FOB AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS WILL REMAIN HIDDEN IN THE CARGO AREA, BUT THE DOOR LOCK FUSE WILL NO LONGER NEED TO BE INSTALLED AT THE DEALER AS IT WILL ARRIVE INSTALLED FROM THE PLANT. NOTE THAT DOOR LOCKS AND TRUNK OPERATION ARE NO LONGER TEMPORARILY DISABLED SINCE THE FUSE IS NOT REMOVED. OPEN THE ATTACHED PDF FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO RETRIEVE THESE ITEMS.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
