| 09-028-17-3363 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some customers may experience that one or more of the door glasses will not open due to becoming stuck in the glass run channel. The root cause is still under investigation. Upon inspection, the caliper mounting support is corroded and one of the disc pad is abnormally worn out (A). This is caused by vehicle usage in an area using road salt. The surface of the mounting support may swell from corrosion causing premature disc pad wear and brake noise. To correct the problem, an improved caliper mounting support has been newly established as a service part. The anti-corrosion surface treatment has been changed from Zn to Zn-Ni plating. |

Some vehicles may experience a rattle noise from the front door glass when driving with the window open approx. 1/2 to 4 inches (1 - 10 cm). The rattle noise may be caused by insufficient holding force of the glass run channel. To increase the holding force, the shape of glass run channel has been changed and non-woven pads have been attached to the glass run channel. |

In some cases, the area of oil residue extends down to around the joint portion (B) between the engine front cover and the oil pan. This may be caused by oil escaping from a fine clearance created at the sealant applied to joint (A) between the cylinder block (B) and head (C) when the engine was pressurized during leak testing on the engine assembly line. |

| 09-035-17-3080 | 2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealer?s responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometerand related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the ?SpeedometerReplacement Label?.Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of Mazda?s vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMO?s services, a Mazda dealer can get the odometer setting updated to reflect the correct mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs, therefore resulting in a higher level of customer satisfaction. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after- warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense. |

On certain subject Mazda3 vehicles, the concentration of engine coolant filled at the plant may not be appropriate, which could reduce the cooling or heating performance. With the deterioration of cooling performance, the coolant temperature may increase at high engine load, and a warning light (high engine coolant temperature warning light) may flash or illuminate, resulting in the engine possibly overheating. Dealers are to check the concentration of engine coolant, and replace the coolant if necessary. The check and repair must be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner. This campaign expires March 1, 2017. |
