Service bulletins for the 2014 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 02-015-18-3499 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:COIL SPRINGS; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit a knocking noise from the rear coil spring and/or the vehicle body sits lower in the rear. These symptoms may be caused by a broken rear coil spring at its lower side. This is caused by corrosion from dust between the rear coil spring and the spring sheet, resulting in a broken rear coil spring. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the rear coil spring has been modified. |
| 09-030-18-3484 | 2018-09-10. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some customers may complain that the rear door seaming welt (1) comes off when stepping in and/or out of the vehicle. | SA-024-18 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system. |
| 09-006-18-3409 | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles may exhibit rust/paint blisters (1) on the surface of the front side sill near the the scuff plates(2). This is likely caused by the driver's or passenger's shoe(s) contacting the side sill when stepping in and/or out of the vehicle since the side sill of the Mazda3 is wider than other models. When this happens, mud/sand stuck to the sole of the shoe scratches the paint surface, which then develops into rust/paint blisters. When you receive a customer complaint on this concern, use the following repair procedure. |

| 09-039-17-3385 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:TRUNK LID. Some vehicles may exhibit paint rust/blister on the vertical surface of the trunk lid. This is caused by silica contained in snow-melting agents adhering to the trunk lid. To correct this issue, the thickness of the clear coat has been increased. |
| 09-001-17-3296b | 2017-10-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; STRUCTURE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When dealing with customer complaints of excessive condensation and/or water within the headlamp unit, first determine if all the bulb sockets (including O-ring), seals and covers are present and correctly installed. In most cases you will find that the Bulb Seal No. 1 (A) or HID Bulb Seal No. 1 (B) and Bulb Seal No. 2 (C) socket covers have not been correctly installed or are missing due to improper prior repairs (i.e., customer replacing the headlamp bulbs or body shop not transferring them when replacing the headlamp unit(s) due to a collision). Any damage caused by missing socket covers, HID module seal (D), or missing bumper brackets (E) is not covered by warranty policy. |
| 09-012-17-3334a | 2017-10-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may experience unusual noise coming from inside the front door panel when playing the audio system. To correct the issue, a plating process was added at the supplier beginning on November 13, 2015. |
| 09-016-15-3041 | 2017-06-07. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE A RATTLE NOISE FROM THE FRONT DOOR GLASS WHEN DRIVING WITH THE WINDOW OPEN APPROX. 1/2 TO 4 INCHES (1 - 10 CM). THE RATTLE NOISE MAY BE CAUSED BY INSUFFICIENT HOLDING FORCE OF THE GLASS RUN CHANNEL. TO INCREASE THE HOLDING FORCE, THE SHAPE OF GLASS RUN CHANNEL HAS BEEN CHANGED AND NON-WOVEN PADS HAVE BEEN ATTACHED TO THE GLASS RUN CHANNEL. |
| 09-020-15-3046 | 2017-06-07. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A CONDITION IN EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURES (BELOW FREEZING) WHERE THE HATCHBACK WILL NOT LATCH (HALF LATCH) WHEN CLOSING. THIS IS CAUSED BY THE TOPPER RUBBER, A COMPONENT OF THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR (A), HARDENING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING. THE STOPPER RUBBER HAS NOW BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN. |
| 09-003-15-2997 | 2017-05-25. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A NOISE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE A-PILLAR WHEN DRIVING ON ROUGH ROADS OR OVER BUMPS. THIS IS CAUSED BY THE COWL UPPER PLATE AND/OR DASH UPPER PANEL INTERFERING WITH THE WIPER BRACKET. FOR THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, A CLEARANCE NEEDS TO BE CREATED BETWEEN THE WIPER BRACKET AND COWL UPPER PLATE AND BETWEEN THE WIPER BRACKET AND DASH UPPER PANEL. TO CORRECT THE CONCERN, ADDITIONAL SEALING AND WELDING HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO THE WIPER BRACKET. |
| 02-001-15-2998 | 2017-05-25. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A CREAKING NOISE FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THE CON-FIGURATION OF THE HOOD RELEASE CABLE HAS BEEN CHANGED. |
| 09-042-14-2962 | 2017-05-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A WHITE FELT (USED FOR NOISE INSULATION) VISIBLE THROUGH THE GAP BETWEEN THE UPPER (A) AND LOWER (B) FRONT DOOR TRIM, CAUSING A POOR APPEARANCE.THE CAUSE OF THIS IS THAT THE COLOR OF THE FELT AND THE GLUE IS NOT APPROPRIATE AND HIGHLY VISIBLE. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THE COLOR OF THE FELT AND THE GLUE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO ONE THAT RESEMBLES THE DOOR TRIM. THE PRODUC-TION CONTROL AND THE INSPECTION HAVE ALSO BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THE PROTRUDING FELT |
