A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

After an HV inverter replacement, there is no instruction in the WSM to perform Initial Learning of the Electric Motor Speed Sensor. This is required after replacing the inverter or electric motor. As a result, when attempting to start the vehicle, the Internal combustion (ICE) engine will start and then stop with DTC P0C17 stored. If this DTC is set, refer to P0C17:00 [SGC2/DMCM (e-SKYACTIV PHEV)] in the troubleshooting manual. NOTE: When attempting to complete the Learn of Electric Motor Speed Sensor with MDARS, it will be unsuccessful until the vehicle is shut off and left undisturbed for 1-2 hours. Make sure the 12V battery is fully charged and the EV battery is charged, then connect the battery and wait a minimum of 1-2 hrs with the ignition OFF before proceeding directly to the relearn procedure. DO NOT start the engine until directed to do so in the relearn procedure. |
