Service bulletins for the 2021 Mazda CX-9
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-030-22 | 2022-06-04. Service bulletin. TRAILER HITCHES. Some vehicles may store DTC B1495:87 (LIN communication error) and cannot be cleared after accessory Trailer Hitch is installed. This may be caused by liftgate foot sensor deactivation procedure not completed during trailer hitch installation. |

| SA-039-20b | 2021-01-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; TRAILER HITCHES; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. The 2020 CX9 Grand Touring and Signature trims come standard with a liftgate handsfree foot-motion detection unit located on the inner surface of the rear bumper. This location is also where the accessory trailer hitch (P/N 0000-8E-N31/0000-8EN31A) is designed to be installed. Due to this location conflict, the foot-motion detection unit must be removed and deactivated in the MAZDA CONNECT system. |
The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
