Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda CX-9
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 01-002-20-3678 | 2020-01-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored in memory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed.• P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem • P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display “F0-002” during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km).Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 09-003-20-3671 | 2020-01-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealer’s responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometer and related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. • Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. • When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. • This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. • Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the “Speedometer Replacement Label”. Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. • In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of Mazda’s vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMO’s services, it is possible that the odometer will be set between 10 to 31 miles over the odometer mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs. Please make sure that the customer is aware that there may be a slight variance to the odometer, in which case the customer may have to accept the slightly higher mileage. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after- warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense. |

For 2014-2016 Mazda6 and 2013-2016 (US spec) / 2017 (Mexico spec) CX-5, the CHECK ENGINE light may turn on with DTC P011A:00 (ECT sensor No.1/No.2 performance problem) stored at the same time. NOTE: Refer to TSB 01-015/15 if the customer is using a block heater at temperatures below freezing. To solve this concern, two mass production changes have been implemented. a) The concentration of the coolant has been increased so that the amount of the contained anti-rust additive is higher. b) The composition of the coolant has been changed (the ratio of the anti-rust additive has increased). |

| 05-001-19-3538 | 2019-03-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION. When pressing the START/STOP button in very cold weather, the ignition may not turn off on some vehicles equipped with a lock release button (1) on the selector lever knob. Although the selector lever is in the "P" position and the engine shuts off normally, the ignition may stay on (in accessory mode). NOTE: This TSB only applies if the selector lever knob is BHN2-46-030* or BHN4-46-030* with the lock release button. If not, this TSB does not apply. This may be caused by the lock release button in the selector lever knob sticking in the pressed position. | MT-002-18 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about improper operation of the MAZDA CONNECT system when streaming music with audio source aha/Pandora/Stitcher/Bluetooth® and the same device is also connected to the USB port for charging. The concerns may include: Blank Screen and/or No Audio Sound, Phone will not charge.Blank Screen and/or No Audio Sound These concerns may be caused by:The MAZDA CONNECT system has reached its capacity limits when streaming music with audio source aha/Pandora/Stitcher/Bluetooth® and also connected to the USB port. The MAZDA CONNECT system has reached its capacity limits when the customer's USB device capacity exceeds 16 GB (e.g. 64 GB iPhone X). The MAZDA CONNECT system USB port capacity is 16 GB (FAT32).Mazda recommends not to connect any devices to the USB port when streaming music with audio source aha/Pandora/Stitcher/Bluetooth®. When streaming music with audio source aha/Pandora/Stitcher/Bluetooth® (without USB connection), the Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) is able to process Bluetooth® digital data (A) and output audio sound and display Bluetooth® audio information. If the same device is connected to the USB port for charging, the CMU processes both Bluetooth® digital data (A) and USB digital data (B) from the same device at the same time. In this case, CMU resources may be exceeded, causing a Blank Screen and/or No Audio Sound. |
