To eliminate this concern, the production process of the front harness short cord has been improved to increase waterproof performance. |
| 09-047-22 | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit power outer mirror(s) that do not completely fold in and/or out. NOTE: This concern is unrelated to frozen mirrors in icy weather where snow or ice need to be removed for the mirrors to fold in and/or out. This concern may be caused by the following: - The space between the mirror frame and the inner base may be too tight to allow for proper movement. - Due to insufficient water tightness, water enters the electric fold-in unit and results in corrosion damage. - The friction around the folding mechanism shaft may become increased. To eliminate this concern, the following mass-production changes have been implemented: - The hole (1) in the mirror frame connected to the inner base has been enlarged. - The overlapping area (2) of the water-proof seal (inside electric fold-in unit) has been extended. - The washer material has been improved and an additional washer has been added to the shaft. |
| 09-018-22b | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 74.00.324 or later). The system performance has been improved as follows: Ver. 74.00.324 fixes these software errors (bugs): * If the shift lever is operated quickly while displaying the CarPlayTM screen, the rear view screen may not return to the CarPlayTM screen. * When the gear position is shifted into P from R, the screen may not return to the previous condition before shifting into the R position. |
| 09-003-22b | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit the following malfunctions: - The film on the center display is peeling off, as shown in the illustration below. This may be caused by cleaning the center display surface. Water and/or a cleaning solution may get into the scratches on the film and cause the film to start peeling (As a result, DTC B108E:04 may be stored). To eliminate this concern, the anti-reflective film has been modified to reduce scratches during cleaning. - The map on the center display may scroll by itself without operating the map (ghost touch). The thermal expansion and contraction of the touch panel may cause a deformation. Loosening of the touch panel resulting in increased wire resistance may be causing the map malfunction (As a result, DTC B108E:04 may be stored). To eliminate this concern, a protection film has been added in the touch panel to prevent deformation. |
| 04-004-22 | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Front Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a click noise when first moving forward or reverse from a stop OR when first applying the brakes while moving forward at slow speeds. This is caused by deteriorated grease between the brake pads and the shim, the front brake pads move upward/downward along with the brake rotors during brake application. When the vehicle moves or the brakes are applied the next time, the front brake pads move to the other side, which causes a click noise. Front Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles may exhibit the brakes having an unusual noise or vibration when applying the brake. This is caused by rust on the brake disk plate's surface. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise from the rear brakes while braking lightly and occurs more frequently when driving at slow speeds. The noise is caused by poor contact between the guide plate and the mounting support. To eliminate this concern, the material of the pads has been changed to copper-free and the specification of the shims has been changed to a coated spring with tape. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles equipped with an electric parking brake (EPB) may exhibit a grinding noise from the rear brakes when braking. This may be caused by the rear brake pads not having the capability to remove the rust from the rear brake discs. The red rust accumulated on the discs is exposed to high temperatures during braking, and consequently the rust turns black. As the black rust is too hard to be removed by the brake pads, the rust progress is accelerated, resulting in the grinding noise. |
| 02-004-22a | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some customers may complain of signs of oil on the struts or shock absorbers. In most cases the oil that is present is normal, and a result of the oil that remains on the shaft during the normal sweeping process of the shaft seal. Follow the inspection guidelines below to determine if the condition is a result of the normal sweeping process or a failure of the shaft seal. |
| 01-013-22 | 2022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may experience the CHECK ENGINE light ON with DTC P0126:00 (Thermostat stuck open) and one or more of the following symptoms: * The engine takes longer to warm up * The engine temperature gauge fluctuates * The low coolant temperature indicator (blue) light stays on longer or comes on while driving * Poor heater performance, especially at idle NOTE: * Vehicles with SKYACTIV-G 2.5T are not applicable. * If DTC P2B61:00 (Coolant control valve circuit range/performance) accompanies, this information is not applicable. Diagnose according to the instructions in MGSS. Due to production variety of the failsafe thermostat integrated in the coolant control valve, engine coolant may enter into a dry hollow in the failsafe thermostat, resulting in unintended opening of the failsafe thermostat at lower temperatures (104-176 °F (40-80 °C)). To eliminate this concern, the production process of the coolant control valve has been modified. |
| 01-012-22 | 2022-11-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit accumulation of dried coolant (1) around the water pipe (2). This is caused by a gap between the housing and pipe due to a press fitting during the manufacturing process. The accumulated coolant is solidified and plugs the gap in high temperature environment and the seepage is stopped and does not progress. This is normal and does not require a part replacement, clean off the dried coolant from around the pipe with a wire brush. |
| SA-068-22 | 2022-11-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The new SKYACTIV-DRIVE FW6A-EL AT uses "Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Type: FZ". Only use "ATF-FZ" to fill or top off the fluid level. | 01-010-22 | 2022-10-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may experience a squeaking noise may be heard from the exhaust manifold when the idle speed drops from fast idle to normal idle speed during cold start. This is caused by a variable valve being stuck in the closed position. When returning from fast idle to normal, the stuck valve suddenly opens due to thermal change around it which causes abnormal noise. To eliminate this concern, the internal design of the exhaust manifold has been modified. |
