Service bulletins for the 2014 Mazda CX-5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SA-050-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some customers may complain that their liftgate does not open. This can mean a range of things, from the liftgate not unlatching to the power liftgate (PLG) not opening automatically. If you confirm that the customer's concern is that the liftgate does not unlatch correctly, follow the repair information below
09-031-13-28432017-08-10. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some vehicles may experience one or more of the following symptoms in connection with a malfunction related to the C-15 connector. ?The driver side power window does not operate.?The door does not open when using the advanced keyless system.?The warning lamp stays ON even after the ignition switch is turned OFF.The symptoms listed above may be caused by corrosion of the C-15 connector terminals due to water intrusion through the front door. In low ambient temperatures, the door harness hardens. If the door is fully opened, it may create a gap between the door and the door harness grommet, which may allow water to enter through the gap.
09-035-14-29402017-05-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE:LOCK. SOME VEHICLES MAY HAVE A LIFTGATE THAT DOES NOT OPEN WHEN THE LIFTGATE OPENER SWITCH (A) IS PRESSED.THIS CONCERN MAY BE DUE TO WATER ENTRY INTO THE LIFTGATE OPENER SWITCH CONNECTOR DURING A CAR WASH OR BY OTHER MEANS OF CONDENSATION. THE CONNECTOR TERMINALS MAY THEN BECOME CORRODED.
09-005-14-28752017-04-27. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS IN CONNECTION WITH A MALFUNCTION RELATED TO THE C-15 CONNECTOR. • THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE. • THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN WHEN USING THE ADVANCED KEYLESS SYSTEM. • THE WARNING LAMP STAYS ON EVEN AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF.THE SYMPTOMS LISTED ABOVE MAY BE CAUSED BY CORROSION OF THE C-15 CONNECTOR TERMINALS DUE TO WATER INTRUSION THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR. IN LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES, THE DOOR HARNESS HARDENS. IF THE DOOR IS FULLY OPENED, IT MAY CREATE A GAP BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE DOOR HARNESS GROMMET, WHICH MAY ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THROUGH THE GAP.MASS PRODUCTION CHANGES: • THE FRONT DOOR HARNESS GROMMET HAS BEEN CHANGED TO IMPROVE SEALING PERFORMANCE. • HOLES INSIDE THE FRONT PILLAR (WHICH ARE MADE FOR WEIGHT REDUCTION), HAVE BEEN COVERED TO PREVENT WATER INTRUSION.
09-044-16-32272017-02-15. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE:LOCK. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A CONDITION IN EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURES (BELOW FREEZING) WHERE THE HATCHBACK WILL NOT LATCH (HALF LATCH) WHEN CLOSING. THIS IS CAUSED BY THE STOPPER RUBBER, A COMPONENT OF THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR (A), HARDENING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING. THE STOPPER RUBBER HAS NOW BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
