Service bulletins for the 2025 Lincoln Navigator

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some 2021-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4/Digital Experience may exhibit an unsuccessful telematics control unit module (TCU) software update or software activation during a universal serial bus (USB) update. Some 2024-2025 Nautilus, 2025 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles may occasionally require a hard reset of the Ford/Lincoln Digital Experience system. To perform a hard reset, press and release the volume button on the center console 5 times within 7 seconds. Some vehicles with older level software may require the volume button to be pressed and held for at least 5 seconds. The Owners Manual is in process of being updated with this information.
SSM 540302025-07-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Some 2025 Expedition and Navigators may exhibit a no crank/no start condition with no Powertrain Control Module (PCM) communication. This condition may be due to the ground connection at G101. Inspect G101 for proper connection and tighten to 106 lb.in (12 Nm). If condition remains after tightening G101, continue with normal diagnostics. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-06 Starting System. For claiming, use causal part 14290 and labor operation 11000A in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 540142025-07-08. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SSM 539932025-07-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025 Aviator/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 24 channel audio digital signal processing module (DSP) (minor feature code IDBBN) may exhibit a no audio/sound condition with no communication with the DSP. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This concern may be due to the software in the DSP. To determine if it is a software concern, remove the DSP fuse, F40 for Aviator or F5 for Navigator, and inspect the fuse for an open and make sure the fuse has proper blade contact. After one minute, reinstall the good fuse. If the concern is still present or a fuse concern is found, continue with normal Workshop Manual diagnostics, Section 415-00 Information and Entertainment System > General Information > Diagnosis and Testing. If communication has been re-established with the DSP, reprogram the DSP using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18B849
SSM 539662025-06-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC.
SSM 539552025-06-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with 3rd row power seats may experience an inoperative power fold condition when a seat control switch button is pressed (3L, Center or 3R). This condition may be caused by an obstruction detected during a prior power fold event, triggering a protective lockout. 3rd row seat power fold function may be restored with the following relearn procedure: 1. Start the vehicle and open the tailgate. 2. Remove all items from the 2nd and 3rd row seats including any obstructions that can prevent from folding/unfolding. 3. Slide the 2nd row seats forward. 4. Press and hold the center 3rd power fold seat control button (located between 3L and 3R) for 1 minute. The seats will begin to move. 5. Continue holding the center button for an additional 5 seconds after the seats have stopped moving. 6. Press the 3L and 3R buttons independently to verify that the seats are folding properly. If the inoperative condition remains, continue with normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10C. The Owner's Manual and WSM have been updated with this revised procedure.
SSM 538912025-06-19. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with PRBs do not deploy the running boards in auto mode when the easy entry/exit setting for "Approach Detection" is toggled on. This is a change from prior models. Easy entry/exit under Settings in the vehicle's center display screen incorrectly indicate PRBs will deploy if the approach detection is set to ON. This will be changed in a future Digital Experience software update. The Workshop Manual and Owners Manual are also being corrected to explain proper operation of PRBs during Approach Detection.
SSM 538802025-06-11. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024-2025 Nautilus, 2025 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles may occasionally require a hard reset of the Ford/Lincoln Digital Experience system. Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1557:31 in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. If no other symptoms, DTCs or conditions are identified, no further action is required. Replacement and/or reprogramming of the RGTM will not resolve this condition.
SSM 538662025-06-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2025 Expedition and Navigator vehicles may exhibit a power liftgate/tailgate inoperative condition with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM). A liftgate/tailgate ajar light may also be displayed in the center display. This may be due to the software in the RGTM. To correct the condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If the condition remains, continue with normal diagnostics per the Workshop Manual (WSM). For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 538622025-06-11. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING; VISIBILITY/WIPER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience a "Cross Traffic Alert/Side Obstacle Detection Fault" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B15D9:78 stored in the SODL and/or DTC B159C:78 stored in the SODR. Before proceeding with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics in Section 419-04, raise the vehicle and carefully inspect both the SODL and SODR modules for proper attachment on the mounting sheet metal, ensure all clips are fully seated (module properly attached) and repair as necessary.
