Service bulletins for the 2021 Lincoln Corsair

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 497512021-05-03. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. 2020-2021 Corsair vehicles have a child safety lock that is located inside the opening of the rear door latch. The child safety locking switch may be difficult to see unless viewed at eye-level with the rear door latch and looking into the rear door latch opening. Verify that the child safety lock is in the correct position prior to condemning the latch assembly. The digital version of the 2020 and 2021 Corsair owner manual has been updated. The digital Owner's Manual version includes updates to the Child Safety Locks section. It can be viewed at https://owner.lincoln.com/. SSM 497232021-05-03. Service bulletin. SEATS. Some 2021 Corsair vehicles built on 4-Jan-2021 and through 19-Mar-2021 equipped with perfect position seats may exhibit the massage feature operating incorrectly on the passenger seat. Inform the customer engineering is aware of the concern and is working on a fix. Schedule a follow-up appointment for the 3rd quarter of 2021. Monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 496902021-03-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For 2018-2021 EcoSport/Expedition/Navigator, 2019-2021 Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 Escape/Explorer/SuperDuty/Transit/Aviator/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport/F-150/Mustang/Mach-E the Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics may direct to replace a module on vehicles that use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.
SSM 496462021-03-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2020-2021 Escape and 2021 Corsair vehicles equipped with a HF45 transmission may exhibit a rattle noise on cold start up when only when engine is running. This noise may be more prevalent in cold weather conditions, typically at or below 0’C (32’F). Engineering is currently working to resolve this issue. Inform customers that Ford is working on a calibration release for end of April 2021. In the interim, let the customer know that the vehicle is safe to drive, and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late April. Once the solution becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates. Transmission replacement may not correct this concern.

Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with all wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit chatter/shudder during low speed turning events due to fluid contamination. Drain and refill the rear drive unit (RDU), refer to Workshop Manual Section (WSM) 205-02. Drive for 8 km (5 miles) in stop and go conditions with right and left turns and re-evaluate. If the issue is still present, continue with WSM diagnostics. For claiming, use base (4000) causal part.

Malfunction Service Required, or Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. This may be due to a disconnected or discharged battery, recent PSCM or anti-lock brake system (ABS) module reprogram or configuration, or loss of ABS communication to the PSCM. The Workshop Manual pinpoint test is in the process of being updated and replacement of the electronic power assist steering (EPAS) column is not necessary. To clear the DTC, drive the vehicle straight for 30 seconds at speeds over 50 km/h (30 mph). Cycle the ignition on/off once complete. For claiming use causal part 3C529.

Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0442, P0455, P0456, and/or P0457.
