Service bulletin SSM 49313
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0442, P0455, P0456, and/or P0457. This may be due to damage to the carbon canister which may have occurred during vehicle transportation. This condition may not occur for a few hundred miles/km or equivalent key cycles. Inspect the left side underbody air deflector for damage. If damage or witness marks are present, remove the left side air deflector and inspect the carbon canister for damage. As a reminder, dealers are responsible for inspecting new vehicles received by the dealership. When accepting delivery from the carrier, dealers must notify the carrier in writing of any concealed damage within 2 business days (certified mail with return receipt recommended). Refer to Section 2 of the Warranty and Policy Manual.

| SSM 54312 | 2025-10-28. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2026 Escape and 2021-2026 Corsair PHEV vehicles may require inspection of the high voltage battery due to rust, scratches, curb strikes, road debris, or other minor damage. Section 414-03A of the Workshop Manual (WSM) has recently been updated to improve diagnostics for such damage and provides a list of low-level serviceable components for instances where replacement of the high voltage battery assembly is not warranted. Refer to WSM, Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery Minor Damage Inspection. Inform the customer that the condition may have been caused by overfilling of the fuel tank and to not top-off the fuel tank when the fuel pump nozzle automatically shuts off for the first time.
