Service bulletins for the 2020 Lincoln Corsair

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 513742023-03-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2020-2021 Escape/Bronco Sport/Explorer and 2020-2021 Corsair/Aviator vehicles equipped with electric brake booster (EBB) built on or before 1-Aug-2022 may exhibit an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning indicator and stability-traction control warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:96 erroneously stored in the ABS module. This condition occurs during connection or power interrupt to the EBB module. If this code is stored and the ABS system has been reassembled, clear the DTC code using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool and check for recurrence. If the DTC persists, perform normal diagnostics. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09 Anti-Lock Brake System. For claiming use the causal part number 2C219 and applicable labor operations in Section 2 of the Service Labor Time Standards.
SSM 512612023-01-06. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00.
SSM 511842022-11-29. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE. Some 2020-2022 Escape/Corsair vehicles built on or before 17-May-2022 and 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on or before 25-Feb-2022 may exhibit a hiss or rattle noise while driving. This may be due to an internal issue with the manual park release cable. If the noise is eliminated when the cable is disconnected from the transmission, install a new manual park release cable assembly LX6Z-7D246-T. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-05 > Automatic Transmission External Controls > Removal and Installation.
SSM 511202022-10-11. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC.
SSM 510102022-08-15. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK. Some 2020 Corsair vehicles may exhibit an active park assist unavailable message displayed in the message center when the vehicle is placed into reverse (R). This may be due to the configuration of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. To correct this condition, run the ABS configuration app and then the ABS-Calibration app using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Perform a road test above 10mph for at least 5 minutes and re-evaluate the concern. For claiming, use causal part 2C219 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 500642021-09-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC:SOFTWARE/PROGRAMMING. Some 2013-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied.
20B512021-03-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; SERVICE BRAKES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. In some of the affected vehicles, the Electric Brake Booster (EBB) may contain a cracked solenoid valve plunger that may break and move out of position. A dislocated valve plunger may lead to the driver experiencing any of the following symptoms: Hard brake pedal, over-braking condition, and if certain other conditions are present, longer brake pedal travel with an incremental increase in stopping distance that would be accompanied by a red brake warning indicator lamp on the instrument panel cluster
TSB 20-23232020-10-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles built on or before 2-Sep-2020 may exhibit an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) and/or stability-traction control lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0031, C0034 and/or C0051. This may be due to the ABS wheel speed sensor harness rubbing on the front wheels. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor harness and install the pigtail service kit.
TSB 20-23022020-10-01. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:ABS WARNING LIGHT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicle may exhibit an illuminated ABS and/or stability-traction control lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0031, C0034, and/or C0051. This may be due to the ABS wheel speed sensor harness rubbing on the front wheels. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor harness and install the pigtail service kit.
TSB 20-22912020-09-02. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE. This article supersedes TSB 20-2135 to correct the Service Procedure. Some 2020 Explorer/Aviator/Corsair vehicles built on or before 23-Jul-2020 may inadvertently activate the reverse braking assist system while backing up. This may be perceived as the system is too sensitive to surrounding objects. This may be due to the software in the image processing module B (IPMB). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the IPMB, as well as the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) to allow the vehicle to remember the last setting of reverse brake assist when the vehicle is restarted.
