Service bulletins for the 2024 Kia EV9

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

OVER-THE-AIR: SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR ICCU (SA568) - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) logic of certain 2024 EV9 vehicles. This update is designed to counteract interruptions in auxiliary battery charging and unintended display of warning lights.
OTA_ELE3362024-05-06. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; VISIBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OVER-THE-AIR: SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR LED HEADLAMPS (SA567) - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the Integrated LED Headlamp Control Unit (ILCU) logic of certain 2024 EV9 vehicles to help reduce electricity consumption from the 12V battery by applying a forced sleep logic.
TSB_ELE3372024-05-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: INTEGRATED CHARGING CONTROL UNIT LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA568) - This bulletin provides information to upgrade the software on the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 25, 2023 through March 21, 2024 to improve the auxiliary 12-V battery charging under low voltage conditions. The affected vehicles may experience a discharged 12-V battery while parked and potentially a no-start condition accompanied by DTC P1A961C. The Low Voltage DC/DC Converter (LDC) converts high voltage battery power (High DC) to 12-V battery power (Low DC).
TSB_ELE3362024-05-06. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: INTEGRATED LED HEADLAMP CONTROL UNIT OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA567) - This bulletin provides information to upgrade the software on the Integrated LED Headlamp Control Unit 'ILCU' on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 25, 2023 through January 25, 2024. The ILCU can switch from 'standby mode' to 'active mode' potentially causing the 12V auxiliary battery to discharge while the vehicle is parked. If this occurs, the vehicle might not be able to be started.
ELE331_OTA2024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OVER-THE-AIR SOFTWARE UPDATE: WIRELESS POWER CHARGER OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the wireless phone charger control logic of certain 2024 EV9 vehicles to help improve power usage.
ELE330_OTA2024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OVER-THE-AIR SOFTWARE UPDATE: ICCU-VCU S/W UPGRADE FOR EWP OPERATION - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to help improve the AC (alternating current) charging performance of certain 2024 EV9 vehicles by enhancing the operation of the Electric Water Pump. This update will help prevent the interruption of AC charging and the unintended display of warning lights.
TSB_ELE331_R12024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: WIRELESS POWER CHARGER OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA561) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to improve the wireless power charger (WPC) (also referred to as wireless phone charger) operation logic on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from July 27, 2023 through February 7, 2024. The WPC controller can switch from 'standby mode' to 'active mode' potentially causing the 12V auxiliary battery to discharge while the vehicle is parked. If this occurs, the vehicle might not be able to be started.
TSB_ELE303_R22024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: AVN 5.0 WIDE NON-RESPONSIVE RADIO ICON (AM, FM, SXM) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to update the software on 5th Generation AVN wide on certain 2020-2024MY Kia vehicles (refer to model list on page 3) to remedy a 'non-responsive' or 'inoperative' radio (FM, AM, SXM, etc. ) concern. The affected AVN unit on the vehicles may not respond when pressing the 'RADIO' hard key/button on the AVN unit or when selecting the 'RADIO' icon on the AVN menu screen.
TSB_ELE3312024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: WIRELESS POWER CHARGER OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA561) - This bulletin provides information to improve the wireless power charger (WPC) (also referred to as wireless phone charger) operation logic on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from July 27, 2023 through February 7, 2024. The WPC controller can switch from 'standby mode' to 'active mode' potentially causing the 12V auxiliary battery to discharge while the vehicle is parked. If this occurs, the vehicle might not be able to be started.
TSB_ELE326_R12024-03-02. Service bulletin. SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: POWER SEAT MODULE OPERATION LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA557) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides the procedure to update the software logic of the Power Seat Module (PSM) system on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 24, 2023 through November 6, 2023 to improve the front seat Easy Assist and Leg Rest operation, preventing the driver's leg rest from extending while driving. In addition, the software also improves the logic of the cargo area power folding seat buttons, so that the left seat will fold partially if the front row seat is too far back, which is the existing logic for the right seat.
TSB_ELE3302024-02-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: ICCU-VCU SOFTWARE UPGRADE (SA560) - This bulletin provides information to improve the electric water pump (EWP) operation logic when the EV battery is being charged with a Level 1 or Level 2 (120-240 volt) AC charger on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 24, 2023 through January 19, 2024. A deviation may develop between the internal temperature and sensing temperature of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) during high-current AC charging and predominantly in cold weather environments. If this condition occurs, the ICCU may become damaged, resulting in a stopped charging session and inability to charge using Level 1 or 2 AC chargers; however, the EV battery can still be charged using Level 3 DC fast charging.
