Service bulletins for the 2024 Kia EV9

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

PS8142026-09-18. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. This Pitstop provides information related to Electric Vehicle (EV) charging on 2024 - 2026MY EV9 (MV1, MV1a) vehicles. In some cases, high-voltage charging performance may be limited or inoperative and accompanied by an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P343A98 stored. This condition may occur if the Electric Water Pump #1 (Power Electronics) E65 connector and Electric Water Pump #2 (High-Voltage Battery) E66 connector being inadvertently swapped.
OTA_ELE3802025-04-30. Over-the-air update. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OVER-THE-AIR: SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR V2X ENHANCEMENT - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the Vehicle Charging Management System (VCMS), Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), Rear Motor Control Unit (R_MCU), and Battery Management Unit (BMU) logic of certain 2024 and 2025 EV9 vehicles. This update is designed to enable your vehicle to be Vehicle to Everything (V2X) ready. V2X provides the ability to use your vehicle as an energy storage system for properly equipped homes. A compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately) is required. After activating the V2X feature in the Kia Connect Store, V2X can be used by connecting to a compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately). For more information about V2X, its benefits, and availability, please refer to the Kia Owner’s website.
TSB_ELE3802025-04-23. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING (V2X) SOFTWARE UPGRADE - This bulletin provides information to install the Vehicle-to-Everything ‘V2X’ function enhancements by upgrading the software of the Vehicle Charging Management System ‘VCMS’, Rear Motor Control Unit ‘R_MCU’, Vehicle Control Unit ‘VCU’ and Battery Management Unit ‘BMU’ systems on some 2024-2025MY EV9 (MV1) vehicles produced from September 25, 2023 through October 15, 2024, that have been unable to be updated using the Over-The-Air (OTA) method. The V2X technology allows EV9 vehicles to interact with other devices such as Vehicle-to-Home ‘V2H’ and Vehicle-to-Grid ‘V2G’ technology which enables bidirectional charging, where the EV's battery can be used as a mobile energy storage unit, providing power to the grid or a home backup power source.
TSB_ELE369_R12025-02-27. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: REAR MOTOR CONTROL UNIT SOFTWARE UPGRADE (SA601) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to upgrade the rear motor control unit ‘MCU-R’ software on certain 2024-2025MY EV9 (MV1, MV1a) vehicles produced from September 24, 2023 through January 2, 2025, which may unexpectedly end an EV charging session when using a Tesla Supercharger station due to signal interference with the vehicle’s inverter.
OTA_SA6012025-01-23. Over-the-air update. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. OVER-THE-AIR: SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR CHARGING COMPATIBILITY (SA601) - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the vehicle charging compatibility with NACS Connector DC Fast Chargers to reduce the probability of shutdowns while charging.
TSB_ELE3462024-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: VCMS RESERVED BATTERY CHARGING LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SA577) - This bulletin provides information to improve the Vehicle Charging Management System (VCMS) operation logic on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 25, 2023 through April 1, 2024. The vehicle’s High Voltage Battery (HVB) can be scheduled to charge at a specific date/time using the scheduled charging feature. The affected vehicles might experience inoperable High Voltage Battery (HVB) charging issues when the scheduled charging feature is enabled.
TSB_ELE3392024-06-13. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SERVICE ACTION: ICCU-VCU S/W UPGRADE FOR EWP OPERATION AND ICCU REPLACEMENT (SA570) - This bulletin provides information to improve the Electric Water Pump (EWP) operation logic when the EV battery is being charged with a Level 1 or Level 2 (120-240 Volt) AC charger on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV) vehicles produced from September 25, 2023 through January 11, 2024. A disparity may occur between the actual temperature and sensed temperature of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) during high-current AC charging, predominantly in cold weather environments. If this condition occurs, the ICCU may become damaged and exhibit a MIL ‘ON’ with the DTC(s) listed below, resulting in a stopped charging session and inability to charge using Level 1 or 2 AC chargers; however, the EV battery can still be charged using Level 3 DC fast charging, and the vehicle's drivability is unaffected.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
