The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and “bug” fixes. IMPORTANT: If the client is experiencing a software related concern, refer to ITB21-011 to verify if the client concern is a hardware or software related issue. If the concern is a software related issue, review the information in this bulletin to update the AV Control Unit as needed. |

PREVENT FRONT AXLE THREAD DAMAGE DURING AXLE NUT REMOVAL SERVICE INFORMATION If an Applied Vehicle needs to have a front axle nut removed, for any reason, the staking of the nut into the axle keyway must first be removed. The essential tool (part number # J-52982, Figure 1) required to remove the nut staking, is called out as a “Cape Chisel” in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), and must be used to prevent thread damage to the axle (see Figure 2 on page 2). • The Cape Chisel arrived at dealers in December of 2020. • Damaged threads, due to improper removal of the stake placed in the nut, will not be covered by warranty. For information on using the Cape Chisel, refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM): Section TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT > LH/RH. |

STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. 2019-2020 QX50; DOOR FINISHER DISCOLORATION/FLAKING DUE TO WINDOW TINT INSTALLATION SERVICE INFORMATION If the aluminum trim on any door finisher is discolored and/or flaking on an applied vehicle, this may have been caused by the fluid used to install aftermarket window tinting. Before applying aftermarket window tint/film on an applied vehicle, thoroughly cover the complete door finisher to prevent damage that could be caused by the window tinting fluid. IMPORTANT: Damage to the door finisher will not be considered warrantable if it is found to be caused by the fluid used when installing aftermarket window tinting. |
