IF YOU CONFIRM: An applied vehicle has a fuel gauge that registers "empty" after the fuel tank has been filled up full. ACTION: 1. Remove the main fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly (fuel pump module). 2. Install two (2) new springs onto the fuel pump module. 3. Install the fuel pump module into the vehicle. - For repairs, refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE. See this bulletin for further detail. |

Use the following resources to perform diagnostics and confirm the cause of stored DTCs. ASIST: - Appropriate Service Manual diagnostic procedures - Applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Leak Test: - With CONSULT-III plus - WORK SUPPORT >> EVAP SYSTEM CLOSE. NOTE: Use Essential Tool J-42909 or equivalent to pressurize the EVAP system. - With a "Smoke" leak detection machine. Refer to the machine's Operator's Manual for proper use. Make sure the customer is informed of the proper fuel filler cap installation. |
