Service bulletins for the 2017 Honda CR-V

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A17-0322017-07-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Service bulletin - The vehicle does not start due to a low battery. The vehicle may have an intermittent 350mA current draw after the vehicle is shut off. The VSA software logic may not allow the VSA modulator-control unit to shut down correctly and go into sleep mode after the vehicle is shut off. This can happen if the electronic parking brake (EPB) is applied within 3 to 4 seconds of the vehicle being shut off or if the EPB switch is held for a 3 to 4 second duration when the vehicle is off.
ATS1702032017-07-28. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Techline summary article - You may get a customer with any of these Apple CarPlay or Android Auto concerns: ? The phone won?t connect to the feature. ? The feature disconnects. ? A Device not found or Device not compatible message appears. ? Control of the feature is erratic. If so, there are some steps the service advisor can take right on the service drive that just might fix things.
ATS1702022017-07-28. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Techline summary article - If a customer can?t hear the navigation voice when using Apple Maps with Apple CarPlay, an adjustment to the navigation voice volume on the customer?s phone should take care of it. This is something the service advisor can handle right on the service drive, so unless this doesn?t work, there?s nothing a service tech needs to do.

"TECHLINE SUMMARY ARTICLE - DO YOU HAVE A VEHICLE IN FOR A WEAK OR DEAD BATTERY, YET THE VEHICLE AND BATTERY CHECK OUT OK? FROM OUR INVESTIGATION, WE’VE FOUND THAT A SOFTWARE BUG IN THE VSA SYSTEM MAY BE KEEPING IT AWAKE WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED TO OFF. THIS CAN CAUSE A 350 MA PARASITIC DRAW THAT MAY RESULT IN A WEAK OR DEAD BATTERY. WE’VE ALSO FOUND THAT THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO HAPPEN ONLY WHEN A CERTAIN SHUT DOWN PROCEDURE IS DONE, AND IT’S RARE WHEN IT DOES."

"TECHLINE SUMMARY ARTICLE - NORMALLY, ANY TIME YOU DISCONNECT, JUMP, OR REPLACE THE BATTERY, DTC C0051-54 (STEERING ANGLE NEUTRAL POSITION LEARNING INCOMPLETE) WILL SET. THIS DTC CLEARS ON ITS OWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN A SHORT DISTANCE. YOU CAN ALSO CLEAR IT BY DOING THE VSA SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION MEMORIZATION WITH THE I-HDS. BUT DUE TO A SOFTWARE BUG, NOW, WHENEVER THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED, JUMPED, OR REPLACED, TWO DTCS ALSO SET AND WON’T GO AWAY ON THEIR OWN."
