Service bulletins for the 2015 GMC Yukon
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| PIP5211C | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE; SUSPENSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician the steps needed to diagnose and repair vehicles with a rough idle and/or vibration at idle in Drive. This condition will not be present in Park, or Neutral. This concern may be caused by ground out within the one or both engine mounts. Technician will use CH-51450-A (Pico Oscilloscope) to measure the vibration disturbance. If the vibration concern is E1.5 in the horizontal / lateral direction with Pico sensor mounted in seat track as indicated ? continue with steps to reduce the amplitude of the vibration by adding spacers in key locations to reduce ground out within the engine mounts. The 6.2L engine has a characteristic E1 which can be felt, and may be described as a lopey idle. Do not confuse 6.2L E1 characteristic (not caused by mount ground-out), with E1.5 normal idle characteristics being transmitted into the truck via ground-out thru the engine mounts. If measuring high at the seat track 12 mg or greater; replacement of the engine mounts should help reduce the amplitude of the vibration. If the disturbance measures at the seat track as E 1.5 lateral in the range of approximately 2.5 - 8 mg using a tri-axis sensor. Then place tri-axis Pico sensor on the inboard seat track forward-most location to record measurement of the rough idle vibration concern. With the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning on perform several short heavy launch events from stop to stop to bring the temperatures back up while attempting to re-create the rough idle vibration in Drive with Pico sensor placed on inboard seat track; while the vibration is active ? Record Pico reading. This method seems to provide better results than extended test drives. If the Pico reading for E1.5, with vibration active, at specified seat track location measures close to 2mg or less use Service Information to diagnose rough idle / vibration. If the Pico reading for E1.5, with vibration active, at the inboard forward seat track |

| PIT5404 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; SUSPENSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a buffeting vibration and/or drone type noise, exhaust tone change, and/or body pressure booming. The concern may be most noticeable while the engine is operating in 4-cylinder Active Fuel Management mode in the 1,100-1,400 RPM range. If the noise is excessive it may excite the roof sheet metal and compound the issue, if this concern is found refer to the latest version of PIT5318. If the concern is qualified to be present during V4 mode operation, but is deemed to be normal by comparing to a like vehicle, then no further repairs should be made, as this is a normal characteristic. If the concern is qualified to be present during V4 mode operation, but is deemed excessive by comparing to a like vehicle then continue with the direction in the Preliminary Information. Vehicles equipped with the 6.2 liter engine and noise cancellation, the noise cancellation may not be working or working incorrectly this can be the cause of the issue. Technician should inspect for aftermarket audio components, objects blocking the microphones or speakers, Diagnostic Trouble Codes B0560, B1277, B127C, or B127D. By the technician pulling the fuse for the amplifier the noise cancellation will be disabled if the noise improves there may be an issue with the noise cancellation system. Technician should inspect the exhaust system also. Exhaust should be checked when it is hot and cold while the vehicle is in neutral, forward and reverse gear. Inspect the exhaust system for loose and/or missing fasteners, heat shields damaged, joints and/or couplings not properly seated, bracket and/or insulator mounting concerns, inadequate clearance to body and/or chassis components, improper alignment, disconnected and/or missing insulators, cracked, dry-rotted, and/or oil-soaked insulators, stretched, twisted, broken, torn, and/or collapsed insulators, and bent, twist |
