On 2500/3500 series trucks production option code IO3 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the instrument panel cluster and then the signal goes on low speed local area network to the radio. On 2500/3500 series trucks production option code IO4, IO5, or IO6 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the instrument panel cluster and then the signal goes on low speed local area network to the radio then Most 50 Bus to the Human Machine Interface. |
| PIT5076E | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician to insure that global diagnostic service 2 diagnostic packages are up to date prior to learning the steering angle sensor for a diagnostic trouble code C710 symptom code 71 set in the electronic brake control module or the power steering control module. When rechecking for diagnostic trouble codes a U0074 U0077, U0180D, U01293, U0126, U0125, C0186, C0196, or C0287 are set and will not clear diagnose the Chassis bus. If no fault is found in the chassis bus check for an multiple diagnostic interface to data link connector issue. Technician is to try a different multiple diagnostic interface cable and attempt the steering angle sensor learn again following service information instruction then try to clear the codes again. |
| PIP5293 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician when the customer complaint on a noise from the transmission when the engine starts. The noise may be a clunk with a bump sensation. This condition may be caused by turning the engine off and then quickly restarting it. The transmission control module doesn?t have adequate time to power down and the 1-2-7-8-R along with the 1-2-3-4-5-R clutches will apply at maximum line pressure causing this concern. This is considered normal operation if the transmission control module is not allowed to power down before restarting the engine. The transmission control module needs the transmission to be placed in park the ignition turned off and the door opened and closed. After closing the door the transmission control module requires 2 minutes before the engine should be restarted. If the concern is present and duplicated after following the power down procedure the General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further direction. |
| PIT5405 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for a reduced power message, steering assist, engine stall or the instrument panel, radio, and or Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning go blank with multiple diagnostic trouble codes. Technician will confirm the transmission service fast learns and drive learn procedures listed in the latest version of bulletin 14-07-30-001. If the concern is still present technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance. |
| PIP5250B | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Service 4WD message in the Driver Information Center. During inspection technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 or C0326 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module. If the vehicle has Regular Production Option Code NP0 and only has diagnostic trouble code C0398 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module, then use Service Programming System to update the Transfer Case Control Module. When working with vehicles equipped NHQ and NQ6 and setting Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 when operated in areas where the ambient temperature is below 32 Fahrenheit (0 Celsius) use Global Diagnostic System 2 to review the freeze frame failure records, record all findings and Diagnostic Trouble Codes then clear the DTCs and data. Technician will need to operate the vehicle in all ranges and ensure that no Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset. If the vehicle had a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 in the Transfer Case Control Module stored with any other Diagnostic Trouble Code such as C0392, C0396, C0306 or other codes related to rotational position sensor or actuator position sensor it is likely that is causing a C0398 to set and replacement of the actuator will likely not repair the vehicle. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset and C0398 was set without other rotational position sensor, or actuator position sensor Diagnostic Trouble Codes then replace the actuator motor with part number 23355888. Dealer will need to contact General Motors Product Quality Center for further assistance. |
| PIP5250A | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Technician may find C0398 or C0326 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module. Technician should reprogram the Transfer Case Control Module using Service Programming System for the updated calibrations to resolve this concern. |
| PIT5365A | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how the radio display gets the air ambient temperature. On 1500 series trucks and all sport utility vehicle with regular production option code IO3 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the engine control module and then the signal goes on high speed local area network to the body control module from there on low speed local area network to the radio. On 1500 series trucks and all sport utility vehicle with regular production option code IO4, IO5, or IO6 the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the engine control module and then the signal goes on high speed local area network to the body control module from there on low speed local area network to the radio then Most 50 Bus to the Human Machine Interface. |
| PIT5367 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a blank displays, flashing displays, "Error or Update failed Messages", navigation map not loading, Bluetooth or USB concerns. Technician should inspect the USB/SD card port for a SD card or a device plug into any of the USB ports. |
| PIP5261 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician that some vehicles may have a high pitched whine noise from the vehicle noticed when driving in auto 4wd. When the transfer case control module has to move the transfer case actuator motor the higher current passing through the module causes an "electronic buzz or whine" within some of the capacitors in the module that can be heard by some of our customers. This can only be heard with all accessories and HVAC off and only when actuator movement is required. This does not indicate a concern with the module and should not be replaced to address this concern. |
