Technician will use Service Information document number 3269210 to repair the vehicle.
PIP5250F2017-08-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a Service 4WD message on the Driver Information Center when operated below 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius). Technician may find C0398 or C0326 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NQH and NQ6 and only setting Diagnostic Trouble Codes C0398 or C0398 and C0326 the replacement of the actuator motor will correct the concern. Dealer will need to contact General Motors Product Quality Center for further assistance. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NQH and NQ6 with other transfer case Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If the vehicle had a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 in the transfer case control module stored with any other codes such as C0392, C0396, C0306 or other codes related to rotational position sensor or actuator position sensor it is likely that is causing a C0398 to set and replacement of the actuator will likely not repair the vehicle. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NP0 and only have a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 stored in the transfer case control module, the technician should insure the transfer case control module calibrations are up-to-date in Tis2Web.
PIP5141G2017-08-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a Diagnostic Trouble Code P06DD with no drivability concerns. Technician will check for other Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If P06DA, P06DB, and P06DC are not set with the P06DD technician should use the scan tool to gather information for General Motors Technical Assistance Center. Technician will need to bring the engine to 214 Fahrenheit or 100 Celsius. After the engine is up to temperature the oil pressure at idle should be recorded. Then run the engine at 1100 revolutions per minute for 45 seconds and record the oil pressure. Then run the engine at 3500 revolutions per minute for 45 seconds and record the oil pressure. Technician will now need to run the engine at 1400 revolutions per minute using Global Diagnostic System 2 command the oil control valve on and off 10 times on the 11th time record the reading on and off. Technician will now need to run the engine at 2500 revolutions per minute using Global Diagnostic System 2 command the oil control valve on and off 10 times on the 11th time record the reading on and off. Also record if any repairs were made previously for this concern. Technician will now call General Motors Technical Assistance Center with the findings of the test.

Technician will need to reroute the wire harness and repair and damaged wires.

Technician will inspect for the lower column bearing to be out of position and the upper intermediate steering shaft to lower column shaft bolt and nut may be contacting the inhibitor/shiftier cable bracket. Technician will replace the steering column for this concern.
