Service bulletins for the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SB60-1672020-04-22. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Service Bulletin for Draining Water Trapped in the Upper A-Pillar. A water leak in the seams between the cab roof and cab side wall or back wall can result in water becoming trapped in the upper A-pillar area in some Cascadia and New Cascadia vehicles. This water may migrate inside the cab and eventually spill through the marker light fastener clearance holes and drip on the dash.
SB60-1682020-04-18. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; STRUCTURE. Service Bulletin for Installing Rain Gutters for Upper Door Seal Leaks. New Cascadia day cab vehicles with roof fairings may experience minor water leaks through the upper door seals. This issue can be minimized by regularly wiping down the door seals to keep them free of road grime. A rain gutter seal can also be installed above each door using a Cascadia tertiary seal (part number 18-63286-002).
SB60-1702020-04-18. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Service Bulletin for Wear Pad Installation. The area of the floor mat near the throttle pedal is more prone to wear. To extend the life of a floor mat, a wear pad can be installed on it near the throttle and brake pedal area.
SB60-1692020-04-18. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY. Service Bulletin for Replacing Windshield Gasket. Different types of cab leaks can result in water dripping from the top of the windshield, onto the dash. Replacing a windshield gasket unnecessarily may create new leak issues. Do not replace a windshield gasket unless it has been confirmed to leak, using the cab pressure test.
SB54-3272020-04-17. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Service Bulletin for Lengthening the Backup Light Harness. Though the backup light harness is long enough to connect to the backup light switch, it may be short enough that the wire seals in the connector can be stressed. Moisture entering through the seals can cause corrosion, resulting in a bad connection and/or failure of the switch. As a result, backup lights and, if equipped, the backup alarm, may not function when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.

The procedure to check the current software version of the radio is updated.
SS10346862020-04-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Service Solution for P4 New Cascadia with Manual Transmissions Does Not Use Bottom Of Clutch Switch For Starting. On the prior P3 Legacy Cascadia vehicles with manual transmission, the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch could be uses as an interlock for the engine crank circuit. If programmed in the SAM Cab, the engine crank circuit would require the clutch to be fully depressed in order for the engine to crank. P3 also offered a neutral switch as an interlock that could be used instead of the BOC and would require the transmission to be neutral in order for the engine to crank. P4 New Cascadia only offers the neutral switch as the interlock for engine crank.
SS10346842020-04-09. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Service Solution for P4 New Cascadia Road Lamp Strain Relief and Water Protection For Electrical Connection. CALFTLWS000-012020-04-09. Service bulletin. TIRES; WHEELS. Customer Advisory Letter for GWR Label Correction. Freightliner 108SD/114SD, Coronado, New Cascadia, and Business Class M2 vehicles and Western Star 4700 and 4900 vehicles equipped with a certain tire rating have the wrong Component GWR label. Some new CTPs being installed in the field have failed to activate and do not communicate with Detroit Connect back end. The activation of the CTP requires that the VIN and CTP serial number pair is transmitted from DiagnosticLink to the Detroit Connect registration server. When using the old procedure, there may be some factors that may prevent that VIN and CTP Serial Number pairing data from uploading to the server.

This bulletin is updated to include the parts list. Some vehicles may exhibit a lean (right or left) due to weight difference on the front suspension. While this does not affect the operation of the vehicle, it may be visually unpleasing to many customers. To correct this condition, replace the existing front axle spacer on the low side of the vehicle with a thicker one.
