Service bulletins for the 2021 Ford Transit

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

134 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

TSB 23-20152023-01-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles with 2.7L, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L engines, 2020-2022 Transit vehicles with 3.5L Duratec/3.5L EcoBoost engines, 2023 Bronco with the 2.3L engine having charging system diagnostics performed in the Workshop Manual (WSM) may experience the generator voltage desired (GENVDSD) parameter identification (PID) missing from the powertrain control module (PCM) PID list in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. This may be due to a software parameter in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.
21B582021-09-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER; ENGINE. Certain 2020-2021 Model Year Transit Vehicles Equipped with 3.5L PFDI Engines Inactive Smart Acceleration Truncation Feature In all of the affected vehicles, the Smart Acceleration Truncation (SAT) feature is non-functional. The SAT feature is intended to provide common performance for an empty vehicle as would be expected for a fully loaded vehicle. The feature restricts the acceleration capability for empty vehicles where drivers utilize significant accelerator pedal input. When the SAT feature is non-functional, drivers who reach elevated torque/acceleration rates will not see the desired torque de-rate that the feature is expected to deliver.
TSB 21-23212021-09-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some 2020-2021 Transit vehicles may exhibit a harsh engagement into drive. The vehicle may or may not have an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0772 and/or P2704 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to sticking valves in the main control valve body. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to perform the transmission accelerated main control break-in routine and/or overhaul the main control valve body.
SSM 498212021-06-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
