Service bulletins for the 2018 Ford F-750
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 47170 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

| SSM 47110 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty/2016-2018 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines and 2015-2018 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines may exhibit a MIL on with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Prior to performing Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test RJ, confirm DEF concentration using IDS to monitor REDUCT_CONC_MES. This PID reading may fluctuate between 31% and 34% indicating DEF concentration is correct. A concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. This reading may also be checked using Central Tools Refractometer (CEN3R201) which should indicate a similar percentage as the PID. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. |
| SSM 47103 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some 2017-2018 Continental/F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a DTC B13BD in the steering effort control module (SECM). This DTC sets when the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) self test is run and is a result of a software issue between the SECM and the IDS. After the IDS self test is run DTC B13BD sets and the heated steering wheel is disabled. To eliminate the DTC and return the heated steering wheel functionality, perform the IDS SASM module reset routine. The IDS reset routine is available under Toolbox > Chassis > Steering > Adaptive Front Steering > SASM Module Reset. For claiming, use causal part 3600 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual. |
| SSM 47101 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with an audio unit antenna may be damaged due to over travel of the hood. Removal of hood struts will allow the hood to over travel and contact the antenna base resulting in damage. Support of the hood is recommended prior to hood strut removal. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-02. |
| SSM 47100 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2016-2018 Ford and Lincoln Vehicle equipped with SYNC 3 and connected to an iPhone recently upgraded to iOS 11.2.5 may exhibit a concern where USB Audio playback and App Link applications will not function properly. This may also include, under certain conditions, no Bluetooth Streaming. Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a resolution with a future iOS release. No repairs should be performed at this time. To check the iOS software level on an Apple iOS device, select Settings > General > About on the device. Monitor OASIS for updates. Customers can also check Apple Support or connect to iTunes for the latest available iOS release for their phone. |
| SSM 47092 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL. 2018 F-Super Duty/F-650/F-750 and Transit vehicles equipped with 6.7L or 3.2L diesel engines may exhibit a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P20EE. The 2018 Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual pinpoint test RD for DTC P20EE does not reflect the most current diagnostic information. Refer to the 2017 PC/ED for F-Super Duty diesel engine vehicles for the latest diagnostic information. Monitor OASIS for updates. |
