Service bulletins for the 2018 Ford F-550

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 512632023-01-06. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2015-2023 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress.
SSM 497562021-05-03. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2018-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air (OTA) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle > OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid.
TSB 20-22672020-10-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:DRIVER MONITORING:CAMERA/SENSOR. Some 2015-2020 F-150 except Raptor, 2017-2020 F-Super Duty, 2018-2020 Expedition vehicles equipped with a front camera washer may exhibit a washer fluid leak at the front camera washer jet when not in use. This may be due to the rubber seal internal to the jet. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the washer jet.
SSM 489342020-07-07. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS. Some 2018-2019 Explorer/Expedition/F-150/F-Super Duty/Taurus vehicles equipped with a forward collision warning head up display (HUD) may exhibit various warning indicators caused by a possible intermittent lack of HS2-CAN network communication. If the concern cannot be duplicated, place the vehicle in direct sunlight for 15 to 30 minutes to increase the temperature of the HUD and retest. If the concern is present, disconnect the HUD and check for proper HS2-CAN network communication. If proper HS2-CAN network communication is achieved, then HUD module replacement is likely needed. If disconnecting the HUD does not re-establish communication, the HUD is not at fault, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 418-00, PPT AL for diagnostics.
SSM 479822019-06-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:49 in the cruise control module (CCM). A 'Pre-Collision Assist Not Available' or 'Adaptive Cruise Not Available' message may also be present in the instrument cluster message center. This DTC can set due to a low voltage battery state and may not indicate an internal fault within the CCM. Clear the DTC and perform a key cycle. If the DTC does not return after restarting the vehicle, do not replace the CCM. If a vehicle exhibits this concern, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS tab and submit a report. Engineering is investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
