| SSM 50346 | 2021-12-26. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit inoperative remote features via the Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization, no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed or DTCs U2100 and/or B156D in the telematics control unit (TCU). These symptoms may persist even after performing a TCU software update and/or replacement. To correct this condition, start a new session with the latest version of the appropriate diagnostic scan tool and perform a PMI on the TCU. If issues persist, open a hotline assistance request and include the IDS version (if applicable) used to perform the PMI and the Authorization Status PID value in the TCU datalogger. For claiming use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 50342 | 2021-12-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may experience a lack of power due to snow packing of the engine air cleaner when operating in extremely snowy conditions. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1548 may be present in the powertrain control module (PCM). A heavy snow environment pre-filter service kit (service part LC3Z-9K635-AA) is now available for use but is not a warrantable item. It is recommended that the service kit be removed at temperatures greater than 50°F (10°C) and reinstall in subsequent winter seasons in order to maintain optimal vehicle performance. |
| SSM 50323 | 2021-12-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2022 F-Super Duty and 2016-2022 F-650/F-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2021 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition. |
| 20B45 | 2021-12-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Certain 2020 Model Year Super Duty Vehicles with XL Trim and SYNC 3 Instrument Panel Cluster Replacement In some of the affected vehicles, a coding error may have caused a 2.3” display screen instrument panel cluster (IPC) to be installed in place of the 4.2” display screen IPC, as intended with the optional SYNC 3 package. While the display screen size is smaller and appearance differences are noticeable, there is no functional effect on the smaller display screen IPC. |
