Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford F-450

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 511472022-10-25. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with halogen headlamps may utilize a snow plow with light emitting diode (LED) headlamps. To change the vehicle configuration from halogen to LED headlamps, run the BCM-Turn Signal Lamp Configuration application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Vehicles configured to use LED headlamps incorrectly may cause premature halogen bulb failure.
SSM 492862020-11-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; EQUIPMENT. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with an aftermarket bed may exhibit inoperative trailer lights on one or both sides of trailer after performing the FDRS Turn Signal Lamp Configuration application on the vehicle. Version 12 of this application is now available on the FDRS to address this trailer lighting condition. Make sure to download version 12 or later of the FDRS Turn Signal Lamp Configuration and follow the on screen prompts to configure the aftermarket bed. Verify the trailer lighting is operating correctly once complete. If the Turn Signal Lamp Configuration application was previously run on the vehicle, make sure to run the BCM Reset option before re-running the application.
SSM 488682020-07-07. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS; EQUIPMENT. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) may require the removal of the factory equipped tail lamps to accommodate the use of aftermarket equipment. Once the tail lamps are removed, this may result in BLIS and CTA warning indicators illuminated in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). To clear these warning indicators, the BLIS and CTA systems will need to be disabled using the FDRS scan tool. Start a vehicle session in FDRS using the vehicles VIN and go to the toolbox tab. Locate the application labeled Disable/Enable Blind Spot Information System. Download and run this application to enable or disable the BLIS And CTA systems.
SSM 487772020-05-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a condition where the turn signals flash fast after removal of the factory pick up box and tail lamps for flatbed installation. To prevent the turn signals from flashing fast, the BCM will need to be configured using the FDRS scan tool. Start a vehicle session in FDRS using the vehicles VIN and go to the toolbox tab. The BCM will have an application labeled Turn Signal Lamp Configuration. Download and run this application to configure the turn signals.
SSM 487442020-05-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a condition where the turn signals flash faster after removal of the factory pick up box and tail lamps for flatbed installation. Engineering is working to implement a solution for this condition. Advise the customer that a solution through FDRS is expected to be available 27-Apr-2020. Dealers are asked to follow-up with their customers to schedule a service appointment once the solution becomes available. Monitor OASIS for updates.
