TSB19-21702019-06-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine and built on or before 12-Feb-2019 may exhibit a rattling sound coming from the transmission bellhousing area. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine to transmission spacer plate. Follow the procedure to correct the condition.
TSB19-21442019-06-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some 2018-2019 F-150 and Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit a light to moderate knocking type noise at idle (600-700 RPM) that is sometimes described as a quiet diesel type sound. The noise is usually more prominent on the passenger side of the vehicle toward the rear of the engine. As the engine comes up to operating temperature, the noise level increases slightly. This noise is not detrimental to engine function and has no short or long term effects on engine durability. This an operating characteristic of the 5.0L engine and no repairs should be attempted. Refer to the Service Procedure
SSM 479222019-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. SSM 47922 - Various Vehicles - 2.7L/3.0L EcoBoost Engine - Oil Filter Service Tip When servicing the oil filter on vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoostengine it is critical to inspect the oil filter housing center stem to verify is not separated or damaged. If the center stem is damaged or separated from the housing this will result in oil flow through the reservoir drain port causing low engine oil pressure and internal engine damage. If the filter housing stem is damaged or separated, the oil filter housing must be replaced. If the center stem is not damaged or separated, the O-ring seals on the stem and housing must be replaced each time the filter is serviced.
SSM 479112019-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE. SSM 47911 - 2018-2019 F-150/Mustang - 5.0L - Chirping Noise From Engine Compartment At Idle Some 2018-2019 F-150 and Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit a chirping type noise from the upper right side of the engine at a warm or hot idle. This noise may sound similar to a front engine accessory drive (FEAD) chirp noise. If the noise persists with the FEAD belt removed and is isolated to the front cover area, this noise may be due to the primary timing chain tensioner. This noise will not result in any engine durability concerns. Do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 479482019-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE. SSM 47948 - 2010-2019 Various Vehicles - Turbocharged Engines - Oil Supply Filter Replacement When Replacing The Turbocharger Or The Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube For 2010-2019 vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, when diagnosing and/or replacing turbo related concerns, all steps within the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure must be followed including replacement of all mandatory discarded parts. When specified in the WSM, the turbocharger oil supply filter must be replaced whenever the turbocharger or the turbocharger oil supply tube are replaced. Turbocharger bearing failure may occur if oil starvation occurs due to a restricted filter.

SSM 477912019-04-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2019 F150/Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019 Nautilus and 2017-2019 Fusion/Continental vehicles equipped with a 2.7L engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and/or wrench lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0217, P0330, P1026, and/or P130D. This may be due to a engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector which is not fully seated or damaged wiring between connectors C1064 and C1047 for F150 and C1016 and C1168 for Edge/MKX/Nautilus/Fusion/Continental vehicles. ECT sensors should not be replaced if damaged wiring is found at or near these connectors. For claiming, use causal part 12A699 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 478762019-04-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit a chirping type noise from the upper right side of the engine at a warm or hot idle.
SSM 477912019-04-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING.
TSB 19-20182019-04-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine built on or before 25-Jan-2019 may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0234, P208E and/or P2201 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2019 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.
SSM 477402019-03-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. 2018 Expedition/Navigator, 2018-2019 F-Super Duty and 2019 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles built on or after 9-Jul-2018 and 2019 F-150/Transit vehicles built on or after 2-Jan-2019 are filled with the new Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant. When servicing the cooling system(s) on these vehicles, use Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant VC-13-G (CVC-13-G for Canada). Do not mix different colors or types of coolant. NOTE: The Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant may appear green in color due to the florescent dye used.
SSM 476632019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine built on or before 19-Oct-2018 may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P2457 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM).
