| SSM 47337 | 2018-07-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Some 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.3L engine built on or before 7-May-2018 at Dearborn Assembly Plant or on or before 31-May-2018 at Kansas City Assembly Plant may exhibit an illuminated MIL and/or runs rough condition with DTC P0192 and/or P0193. Various other DTCs may be set. This may be due to engine harness chaffing at the right cylinder head near connector C1056 at the cylinder head core plug boss. The connector will need to be removed from the retainer to inspect the back side of the harness for any damage. Repair as necessary. Make sure to wrap the exposed wiring with Rotunda Coroplast Electrical Wire Harness Tape (RTTP part number NAI837X or equivalent) and reposition the harness to prevent future chaffing concerns. For claiming, use causal part 12A581 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 47270 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some 2015-2018 F-150 may exhibit a dash panel distortion at the defrost duct area. Engineering is investigating the condition. Do not attempt repair at this time. |
| SSM 47229 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization and/or accessory protocol interface module (APIM) DTC U0198 or no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct this condition, remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall. Make sure you are connected to the internet before retesting. If the concern is still present, follow normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00. Refer to PTS OASIS home page for TCU version identification. For claiming, use causal part 14G229. |
| SSM 47097 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY. Some 2017-2018 F-150 vehicles built on or before 29-Sep-2017 may exhibit a no crank/no start, auto-start-stop inoperative, illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and or powertrain malfunction indicator lamp, transmission shift issues, DTC P061A, U0140, U0401, U0101, U0074 and/or U0037 being set in the PCM, TCM, IPC, FCIM, ABS and/or PSCM. This may be due to the 15525 transmission wire harness not being properly secured. Visually inspect the harness for possible damage and proper routing at the rear of the engine down to the transmission. Repair as necessary. If no damage is found, proceed with normal diagnostics. |
| SSM 47072 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY. Some 2018 F-150, Expedition, and Navigator vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P0521 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) usually after a crank, no-start event. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-14 for normal diagnostics. If unable to determine root cause, do not attempt any repairs. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |
| SSM 47070 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. When connecting the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) and Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to the DLC located on the driver side under the steering column at the GWM, make sure that the ignition is off before connecting the VCM. If the ignition is on or the engine is running during the connection, it can result in various warning lights being illuminated with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), no start or no crank conditions or the IPC inoperative. For Lincoln vehicles, this information is now listed in the Technical Inspection and Post Road Test Sections of ePDI on the PTS website. If a vehicle displays these issues, disconnect the equipment from the DLC and disconnect the vehicle battery. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall with the ignition off. Clear any DTCs present and retest. |
| SSM 46951 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Some 2016-2018 F-150 and Expedition vehicles equipped with a SYNC non-touchscreen display may exhibit a blank screen or other various SYNC symptoms only when the vehicle is in transport mode. This is due to the power saving features enabled while in transport mode and is beneficial for battery life to keep the vehicle in transport mode until the vehicle is prepped for sale. To prevent a SYNC system lockup during transport mode deactivation, follow the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure allowing time for the SYNC system to complete all tasks such as fully booting up or powering down and shutting off before moving to the next step of the procedure. If the vehicle exhibits a blank screen or SYNC symptoms after transport mode deactivation, refer to WSM, Section 415-00 for normal diagnosis. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS. |
| SSM 46908 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2018 F-150 vehicles with less than 300 miles on the odometer may exhibit 0 percentage oil life remaining or change oil now message in the message center after PCM reprogramming or a KAM reset. Allow PCM to completely shut down by turning ignition to off state for at least 5 minutes. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. To assist with investigation, refer to the Professional Technician Society (PTS) website and use the report a vehicle concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report. |
