Service bulletins for the 2024 Ford Expedition

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

107 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

Bulletins, newest first
TSB 24-22612024-09-18. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 19-Dec-2023 may exhibit lower than actual fuel level indication on the fuel gauge or inaccurate DTE displayed in the IPC after adding fuel to the vehicle. This may be due to the IPC software and can occur if the vehicle is shut off before placing the gear shift module (GSM) in park (p) and then partially filling the fuel tank.

This may be due to the software level of the CMR. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the CMR module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).
SSM 527352024-08-06. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 07-Mar-2024 may exhibit a concern where the vehicle is unable to complete the trailer calibration drive for the trailer backup assistance feature. The customer will see all instructional information in the center display screen for the trailer calibration including "Drive Straight Forward To Calibrate", "Drive Left Or Right To Calibrate" and "System Calibrating", but the system will never complete the calibration process. This will prevent customers from using the feature to back up a trailer. This may be due to the software in the image processing module A (IPMA).
TSB 24-21802024-06-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article supersedes 24-2028 to update the vehicle symptom. Some 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a random "Blind Spot Not Available Sensor Blocked" and/or "Cross Traffic Alert Not Available Sensor Blocked" warning messages in the IPC with no vehicle or objects near the vehicle. This condition may be intermittent, more noticeable in wet conditions. Diagnostic trouble codes B13F3:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - left (SODL) and/or B13F4:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - right (SODR) and/or U0233 and U0232 in the image processing module A (IPMA) may also be present. This may be due to a mud/snow/ice build-up between the radar sensor and the rear bumper cover or damage or corrosion to the radar sensor, connector or harness. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to repair damage and install shields.
SSM 526102024-06-11. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2021-2024 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace the engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal. When reinstalling the starter motor, make sure the starter is flush with the engine-to-transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. Failure to do so may result in damaging the newly installed engine-to-transmission spacer plate.

SSM 525742024-06-06. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms after all currently available accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software updates have been performed. - General system performance, stability, and intermittent system reboots. - Intermittent Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto function. - Phone related concerns with intermittent No Audio or Static. - Navigation/global positioning system (GPS) related concerns through CarPlay and Android Auto. - Alexa function consistency and stability. These symptoms may be due to the software in the APIM. Replacing the APIM will not resolve these symptoms for the customer. Before returning the vehicle to the customer, review the procedures within Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 and ensure the latest APIM software is installed. Refer to General Service Bulletin (GSB) 23-7146 for help determining the latest available level of software. IMPORTANT: some module software updates will only display as available on Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) after prerequisite modules are updated. This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. The search results will be shown in the search results pane. Read and follow allTechnical Service Bulletins (TSB), Special Service Message (SSM)s or General Service Bulletin (GSB) first if abulletin specifically addresses the vehicle concern. If there are no messages, run the appropriate diagnosticpinpoint test found in the Workshop Manual (WSM). Follow the steps in the pinpoint test. Make sure to note thetitle of the guided routine, using the correct one for the vehicle's symptom or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) iscritical. Depending on the outcome of the pinpoint test, a repair validation code (RVC) may be generated eitherin the pinpoint test or Guided Routine. If the vehicle concern still exists after following the pinpoint tests orguided routine, then a manual RVC can be generated using the RVC Assist Form. SSM 523352024-03-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

This is a normal operating characteristic and no service action is necessary.
SSM 523142024-03-20. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

Some 2021-2023 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal.
