Service bulletins for the 2024 Ford Escape

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 542462025-10-02. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS. A small percentage of 2023-2025 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) along with other various driver assistance feature warning messages and various invalid data/lost communication diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in various modules after Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 25-2249 has been performed. The reoccurrence of these symptoms is related to a different root cause. This condition does not affect vehicle durability, and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in late October 2025. Replacement of the image processing module A (IPMA) will not resolve this condition. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
SSM 542022025-09-18. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY/WIPER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some 2023-2025 Explorer (rear windows only), Bronco Sport, Escape, and Maverick vehicles equipped with minor feature code B2DAC may exhibit an inoperative passenger front and/or rear window switch. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by clicking "Additional Information" under Vehicle Information or double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner of Professional Technician System (PTS). This may be due to an open diode in one of the passenger window switches. To correct the condition, replace the passenger window switch of the affected window. If the condition persists continue with normal diagnostics. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-11. For claiming, use causal part 14529 and labor operation 14529A in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may be due to the software in the body control module (BCM). To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM - Body Control Module (BCM) Software Update" application in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC.
