Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford Escape
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 53760 | 2025-05-14. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING. Some 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature code DBCAB for Escape and minor feature code DBCBC for Corsair and 2022-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with driver assistance features with minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the IPC. Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related DTCs. The image processing module A (IPMA) should not store these DTCs. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module (IPMA) Alignment" |

| SSM 51996 | 2023-11-03. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: LANE KEEP: AUTOMATIC STEERING. Some 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a condition where the vehicle drifts left and right within the vehicle's lane while the lane keeping assist is active. The lane keeping aid assists the driver by providing steering torque to help the driver keep the vehicle in the lane when it detects unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane. Additionally, adaptive cruise control with lane centering provides constant steering torque to keep the vehicle centered in the lane while cruise control is engaged. These are operating characteristics of the lane keeping systems. Refer to the Owner's Manual for complete description of the operation of these systems. Do not attempt diagnosis or repairs or submit a claim for this condition. Inform the customer that the lane keeping system is only an aid, and their hands should stay on the steering wheel at all times while driving. |
