Service bulletins for the 2013 Dodge Durango

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Flash: Surge, Shudder or Pulsation at Highway Speeds This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software. This is an optional software update that should only be used in situations where the customer is specifically complaining of the condition described below. A small number of customers may experience a surge, shudder or pulsation type sensation when driving on smooth road surfaces at highway speeds of 40-80 mph (64-129 km/h). Some customers may also describe the sensation similar to that of a fish biting on a fishing line. This is an optional software update that should only be used in situations where the customer is specifically complaining of the above condition. There will be two separate software options displayed on the wiTECH flash tab. The software file released for this SB contains the verbiage ?REFERENCE SB 18-035-14. THIS FLASH TO BE USED ONLY FOR SHUDDER COMPLAINTS?. The other file is the standard software that does not contain improvements for this complaint. If for some reason the customer finds this shudder improvement objectionable, the PCM software may be returned/reflashed to the standard version. If the customer complains of the above condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
18-026-142018-06-11. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Flash: Powertrain System Improvements/Enhancements This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software. The following powertrain system improvements/enhancements are included in this software release: Automatic Oil Change Indicator(AOCI) system enhancements that force the use of the severe duty cycle algorithm anytime the PCM is replaced. The vehicle duty cycle information used in the AOCI calculation is stored in the PCM and cannot be recovered/transferred when the controller is replaced. As a result, the severe duty cycle is used in these scenarios to ensure the customer receives a timely oil change required message.
