This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a Battery Saver Message or red Battery Indicator displayed in the Driver Information Center. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0AF8 set in history. Technician will need to the 12 volt battery using the GR8 Battery tester. The technician will need to perform the Direct current Power Conversion Test published in Global Service Information to check for maximum current and voltage output. This test requires the use of a Carbon Pyle load tester. In addition, the technician can select the 14 Volt Power Module Control Function in the Engine Control Module and Accessory Power Module Setpoint in the Body Control Module by using the Scan Tool in order to check that the system is able to respond to current loads. If the test fails, if there were low voltage Diagnostic Trouble Codes or P0AF8 was set, the technician should confirm that the 200 amp fuse located in the X50D Fuse Block is torqued to correct specification. Technician should check the voltage on both sides of the 200 amp Fuse while there is a load applied and comparing the voltage readings. Voltage drop can be checked from the positive battery post to the Accessory Power Module side of the 200 amp fuse as well. If the Accessory Power Module will output current under a load but the voltage is low on both sides of the fuse when compared to the voltage output at the Accessory Power Module, check the following Service Information for any other Diagnostic Trouble Codes that may have led to the low voltage condition, Accessory Power Module output terminal is clean and torqued to specification, The Accessory Power Module output cable ring terminal is properly seated to the Accessory Power Module output terminal post and its condition, and test the voltage drop on the ground cables to the engine block, transmission, body and chassis to ensure they are within specification.
PIC5322D2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician of a customer concern where the heated seat indicator light is not functioning or the heated seats are not up to operating temperature during a remote vehicle start event. This is normal operation of the heated seat during a remote vehicle start event. The electronic climate control module is not in a complete wake up state during a remote vehicle start mode and will not enable the light emitting diode. After a cold soak below 32 degrees Fahrenheit the seat will not get hot in the 10 minutes or less of the remote vehicle start mode. This is due to the fact that the heat element is not in direct contract with the seat surface while the seat is unoccupied and the foam below the heater is full cold insulating air which takes time to heat up. Technician is to communicate to the customer this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle. It will not impact the designed performance or reliability of the vehicle. Please share this information with the customer, including a copy of this message.

Please make sure the USB memory stick is fully inserted into the machine. Make sure to follow the on screen instructions do not hook the machine to the battery section until instructed to do so. The balance machine should be on the latest software version available by following the latest version of preliminary information number PI1125.
PIC5602B2017-08-15. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician to aid in diagnosing a concern of one or all of the following concerns. The customer may state that the reverse lamps are inoperative, the review back up camera is inoperative, and the dome lights are inoperative. Technician may find diagnostic trouble code B2615 set in the Body Control Module. Upon inspection it might be found that the F7DR 7.5 amp fuse is open in the right instrument panel fuse box. After initial inspection a concern can?t be found inspect circuit 6815 going to the drivers and passengers sun visor. It might be required to lower the front part of the headliner to perform the inspection. If a wiring concern is not found move each sun visor up and down and front to back to see if the fuse opens. If the fuse opens replace the sun visor that was being moved when the fuse opened.
