This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have the speakers on top of the seats make a buzz noise when playing AM talk radio. Technician will ensure Service Update 13004 has been performed first. If this concern is still present, separate the speaker housing and apply felt tape to the raised section.
G-1618802017-08-15. Service bulletin. SEATS. 12290A - Service Update (revised service procedure). The trim on the front corners of the seat cushion is loose and potentially bunching or wrinkling. Dealers are to tighten the driver and front passenger seat cushion trim.

The radio volume increases to maximum level without input and the radio cannot be turned off. This condition may or may not occur on subsequent ignition cycles. Also, the heated and/or ventilated seat operation may turn on without input, and/or the outside buttons on the radio control assembly may not work.

Dealers are to run a diagnostic procedure to verify the integrity of the indium tin oxide (ITO) sensing of the radio control assembly. If the diagnostic procedure determines a concern with the ITO sensing, dealers are to replace the radio control assembly.

Technician should be advised that the updated calibration installed during Service Update Bulletin 12262 will eliminate the "RKE Memory positions" and will now link memory 1 and 2 to the fobs.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about 2013 Cadillac XTS has a self-regulating heater pad that is used for seat heaters. Technician should be advised that the cushion and seat-back should achieve an approximate temperature according to the level of desired heat. The temperatures for the cushion and seat-back are Heated Seat Low Temp Setting - 37 Celsius 98.6 Fahrenheit, Heated Seat Med Temp Setting - 39 Celsius 102.2 Fahrenheit, and Heated Seat High Temp Setting - 42 Celsius 107.6 Fahrenheit.

PIC59962017-08-15. Service bulletin. SEATS; STEERING; WHEELS; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about when the heated ventilated seat, rear defogger, heated steering wheel and Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning operation will occur during remote vehicle start event. During a Remote Vehicle Start event, the heated seats will turn to the high setting when the ambient temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius). During a remote start event, the ventilated seats will turn to the high setting when the ambient temperature is above 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius). During a remote start event, the rear window defogger will turn on if the outside temperature is 44 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius) or below. The heated steering wheel does not turn on during a remote start event. During a remote start event, the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning system will operate using the settings they were last set at when the car was shut off prior to the remote vehicle start event.
