Service bulletins for the 2017 Cadillac Escalade
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 040730013D | 2018-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE; EQUIPMENT. This informational bulletin provides information to dealership personnel on automatic transmission shift and engine drivability concerns and/or MIL ON due to aftermarket oil bath air filter use. |
| PIP4112R | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear. |
| 17-NA-066 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This warranty administration bulletin provide policy information for automatic transmission Oil Cooler Flush and flow test. |
| 16-NA-175 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. This technical bulletin provides a procedure to flush and drain fluids for the transmission to eliminate a shake and/or shudder during a light throttle acceleration between 48 and 104 KM/H (30 and 65 MPH) at a steady state. |
| PIP5248D | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps need to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have stalling shudder and/or hard shifting into 1st gear or reverse vibration on launch (with excessive crankshaft end play). Technician will test to determine if the crank shaft end play is within specification 0.0015–0.0086 inch. If end play is found to be out of specification, remove engine and inspect for possible crankshaft thrust bearing and/or crankshaft for wear. Inspect thrust bearing for wear on one side and crankshaft on that “mating” surface. If the thrust bearing has three vertical channels worn off replace connecting rod bearings, main bearings, thrust bearing and crankshaft. If working on a Corvette the oil tank with lines and oil cooler are both required to be replaced if equipped. |

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that have remote start is inoperative, power lift gate Regular Production Option Code (TB5) is inoperative with the ignition off, Crank no start, Start and Stall, and vehicles equipped with the diesel engine, the blower motor may stay on after the engine is turned off. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P2537 and/or P129Dset. Technician will need to Use a voltmeter and check circuit 5985 at the Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module. If no or low voltage is found, use the wiring diagram in Service Information and perform normal circuit diagnosis. |

| 16NA338 | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This Bulletin provides guidelines for Dealers to determine whether or not they need to contact the PQC for an engine, transmission or transfer case assembly replacement and information explaining the PQC process, Global Warranty Management Transaction submission, vehicle repair record retention and proper handling of assembly returns. |
| 17336 02 (Bullet | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. 17336 02 - Special Coverage (Parts and Service Procedure Revised). On some vehicles, may have a condition where thermal cycling on the combination transmission fluid/oil and AC condenser cooler creates a crack that may allow refrigerant to escape. This condition consequently may deactivate the AC system which may cause potential customer annoyance. Dealers are to inspect the air conditioning condenser and replace if necessary. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer. |
| PIE0419A | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION. This engineering informational bulletin ends the need for information from the field on vehicles that have the condition of Harsh, Delayed, and/or Improper Shifts. |

| PIP5168F | 2018-02-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT; BACK OVER PREVENTION; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a no crank concern. Technician will need to check the valve train for movement when the engine is cranked. If the valve train is not moving while the crankshaft is moving the front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the valve train is rotating during inspection, disconnect the Camshaft Position sensor and check if the engine will start. If the engine starts front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the engine does not start with the Camshaft Position sensor disconnected the follow published “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run” diagnosis in Service Information. Also perform an Engine Compression Test and Cylinder Leakage Test in Service Information documents all results. If the Service Information procedures above isolate an engine mechanical concern then removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. |
| GCUS-3-886 | 2017-12-22. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. 17098 - Service Update. Certain vehicles may have a condition where a false failure action is being taken when it is not required. This condition can result in the transmission holding the last known safe gear for 6 seconds. A malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is set when this default happens more than 2 times, and reduced propulsion can happen for all 8-speed transmission applications. Dealers will reprogram the transmission control module (TCM). |
