When the fault is active the Passenger Frontal Airbag is suppressed. The Service Airbag System telltale is illuminated, the Service Airbag System message is displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC), and Front Passenger Airbag Status indicator will display OFF. The passenger would not have the benefit of the passenger airbag in the event of a collision if there was an active fault condition present at the time of deploy command.

THESE RIVETS WERE NOT TREATED WITH CORROSION PROTECTION AND MAY ALSO EXHIBIT POOR PAINT FINISH QUALITY. THE LACK OF CORROSION PROTECTION MAY LEAD TO SURFACE CORROSION. THE POOR PAINT FINISH MAY BE A CUSTOMER QUALITY PERCEPTION CONCERN. DEALERS ARE TO INSPECT THE UNDERHOOD PANEL FOR COMPLETENESS OF RIVET INSTALLATION, APPLY CORROSION PROTECTION TO THE INSTALLED RIVETS, AND REFINISH THE REPAIR AREA.
