PI-1067B2021-04-16. Service bulletin. Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Light On, Reduced Power Mode, DTC Set, Poor Performance/Shifts In rare cases, some customers may comment that the malfunction indicator lamp is on, poor performance and reduced power mode on. Technicians may find DTC P0641 or various others set. Not all of the effects listed may be experienced. However, the different effects and driver notifications may be caused by one of the wires in the ECM harness being chafed or cut. Due to the cause of the condition, and the positions of the wires in the harness, it is unlikely that more than one circuit will be affected by the condition. This condition may be caused by the ECM wiring harness rubbing on the ECM bracket. The harness may have chafing or damage to the wires. Contact with the edge of the bracket may result in a rub-through of the wires within that harness.
17-NA-2192021-04-14. Service bulletin. Diagnostic Tip for Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated - DTC P249D, P249E, U029D, U029E Set Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated. The technician may find one or more of the following DTCs set: • U029D • U029E • P249D • P249E Note: The graphic above depicts an example of a torn and missing seal. • Moisture intrusion past a damaged (1) seal located in the connector for the NOx sensor wiring harness. • Missing (2) seal located in the connector for the NOx sensor wiring harness. Correction If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, perform normal diagnostics for the codes set. ⇒ If diagnostics lead to NOx sensor replacement, inspect the mating chassis electrical connector for corrosion. Clean and repair as necessary.
