DEACTIVATION OF THE INTERIOR MOVEMENT DETECTOR/TILT ALARM SENSOR IS NOT POSSIBLE: Customer complains that the interior movement detector and the tilt alarm sensor system cannot be deactivated by pressing the lock button on the remote control / BMW display key twice. The second button press on the radio remote control / BMW display key is not detected. Customer may have to press the button 3 times to deactivate the interior movement detector and tilt alarm sensor. CAUSE Software error in the control unit of the roof function center (FZD).

SERVICE ACTION - CHECKING THE DUAL STORAGE SYSTEM AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY: In the event of an accident the two-battery Dual Storage System (DSS) is disconnected from the electrical system via an internal relay. In some cases the relay is stuck closed and a fault is set. In these circumstances: A crash shutdown of the DSS does not occur The power distribution box is supplied with power until the DSS is fully discharged

BMW of North America LLC has issued a Delivery Stop (effective October 24 2019) on a small number of Model Year 2020 BMW X6 vehicles that were produced in the date range shown above. In extremely rare instances dimming of the tail lamps in the "Welcome mode" and "Goodbye mode" could cause the left or rear tail lamps and/or brake lamps to not illuminate. It is unlikely that the left and right tail lamps will not illuminate simultaneously.
