B6103212024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS:CANISTER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. SITUATION BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall (effective April 23, 2021) on a certain Model Year 2020 - 2021 BMW vehicles that were produced between August 13, 2019 and December 11, 2020. Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to an emissions recall, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to an emissions recall. The 12 V battery’s dual storage system (DSS) may contain a software error which intermittently causes a continuous resetting of the microcontroller and communication failure. The error is displayed by a red Check Control message.
B2402232023-07-24. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. BMW AG has issued an Emissions Recall (effective March 17, 2023) on a certain Model Year 2021 - 2023 BMW vehicles that were produced between June 16, 2020, and December 13, 2022. Due to a software failure, there is the possibility that the transmission does not go into "sleep mode" if the car is turned off.
B0902212023-07-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. With the introduction of the BMW Remote Software Upgrade, all Service Pack 18 vehicles and partial Service Pack 15 vehicles may receive new functionality or modifications in their features.
SIB0901212022-07-18. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM):SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. BMW offers a new special ISTA Installation made available for Roadside Assistance / Mobile Service technicians. The new ISTA Version is also able to be used in case of a Remote Software Upgrade (RSU) programming failure to get the customer car reprogrammed on site. In case of a Remote Software Upgrade failure, the engine start is prevented for safety reasons until the vehicle is programmed correctly. Most of the errors occur when only one control unit fails to program correctly.
B6520212022-01-24. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective October 25, 2021) on certain Model Year 2022 BMW vehicles that were produced after October 25, 2021. Due to supply chain limitations, certain vehicles were produced without a CID with touch function and without Reversing Assistant.

SIB 62 03 212021-10-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. When the vehicle is operated in Sport Mode, the engine speed is no longer displayed in the BMW Head-Up Display (HUD).

B6104212021-08-09. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. The customer may complain of a check control message stating "Safe share detected" (CCM-ID 953). Check control message can be verified by checking key reader information or performing the Check control message history service function.
B6520202021-02-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. ?PROGRAM HEAD UNIT: Satellite radio content is not available over IP, this does not affect channels received over satellite.

WIPERS ACTIVATED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN A DRIVE-THROUGH CAR WASH: When the vehicle is in a drive-through car wash with the automatic wiper mode selected, the wipers may activate. The wipers' sweep movement can potentially damage the wiper blades.
B6512202020-08-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. BMW CONNECTEDDRIVE APPS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AFTER PROGRAMMING: After programming vehicle with "20-03" software, BMW ConnecedDrive apps are no longer available in the head unit. Software in the Head Unit High (HU-H3).
B6507092020-08-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. NAVIGATION SYSTEM - REPORTING MISSING OR INCORRECT ROADMAP DATA: Do not replace parts and do not program the vehicle. Roads can change by up to 15% every year. To ensure the best navigation experience, we do everything in our power to create the best maps. Your reports help us to detect changes in your area and keep future versions of our maps as accurate as possible. Therefore, a road map error or missing data must be reported directly to the map supplier.
