Low Washer Fluid Warning Light is illuminated when the Washer Fluid Tank is Full : The low washer fluid warning is illuminated even though the washer fluid reservoir is full. There are no faults stored in the system for the washer fluid level switch. A non-approved washer fluid was used that is silicone-based. Silicone-based fluids are not compatible with the contactless capacitive level sensor. Fluids that contain a silicone additive are normally colored other than blue.

INFORMATION The automatically dimming exterior mirror function on the passenger's side has been deleted from the Option Code 430 as noted above. The automatic dimming function will continue to be operational on the driver's side mirror and rear view mirror.

The low washer fluid warning light is illuminated even though the washer fluid tank is full. There are no faults stored in the system for the washer fluid level switch. CAUSE A non-approved washer fluid is used (fluids that contain a silicone additive, normally colored other than blue). INFORMATION The washer fluid level sensor is a contactless capacitive sensor. The sensor sends a low fluid level signal to the gateway module (FEM - Front Electronics Module or BDC - Body Domain Controller) which in turn displays a low washer fluid warning in the instrument cluster. The use of a ""non-approved"" washer fluid (silicone-based fluid) can cause the low fluid warning light to come on even when the reservoir is full. Refer to ISTA document ""FB-GZ-B17A-F20 Washer fluid level sensor"" for information on how this capacitive sensor operates."

5401142018-11-13. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY; EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL. Panoramic Sunroof Does Not Open or Close. One or both of the following may occur: 1. The sunroof becomes stuck during operation. 2. The sunroof cannot be opened or closed. The panoramic sunroof rear glass mechanism fails. The drive cable plate is either broken or bent.
6102142018-11-13. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REAR WINDOW WIPER/WASHER; EQUIPMENT. Activating Rear Window Washers Causes Front to Briefly Spray. When activating the rear window washers, the front washers briefly spray approximately 6-8 inches onto the windshield. Impulses from the washer pump are not dampened when in use.
6310132018-11-13. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL; VISIBILITY. One or Both Outside Mirror Turn Signals Do Not Operate. When using the left or right turn signal, the turn signal light on the outside mirror does not operate. CAUSE The outside mirror light assembly has a pin pushed back and makes a bad contact.

5102142018-11-13. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; VISIBILITY:REAR WINDOW WIPER/WASHER. Inadequate Cleaning of the Rear Window Washer. The customer may complain of poor rear window washing/clearing at the lower portion of the rear glass. CAUSE The rear wiper blade moves before there is a sufficient amount of washer fluid on the rear glass.

INFORMATION The use of a ""non-approved"" washer fluid can cause the low fluid warning light to come on even when the reservoir is full. An analysis of parts returned to warranty has shown the sensor is operating correctly. Do not replace the reservoir with integrated sensor for these situations. We recommend using ""BMW Group approved"" washer fluid when servicing the vehicle or performing repairs on the windshield washer system. Refer to ISTA document ""FB-GZ-B17A-F20 Washer fluid level sensor"" for information on how this capacitive sensor operates. If the correct washer fluid is being used, diagnose the system using normal troubleshooting with ISTA. A fault code may be stored if an electrical fault occurs in the circuit. During and/or after heavy or prolonged rain, one or both of the situation(s) listed below may occur: ? Water leaks from various locations in the headliner. ? The footwell carpet is wet or soaked with water. Multiple root causes have been linked to this issue. One or more of the cause listed below may apply. The sunroof drain tube is: ? Not properly connected to the sunroof ? Twisted or kinked between the sunroof and where it exits the vehicle ? The sunroof drain is cut or torn above the headliner.
