Service bulletins for the 2025 BMW R 1300 GS
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| MC110125 | 2026-02-24. Service campaign. ENGINE. After a quality inspection it was found that due to improper machining, the right-side chain tensioner screw plug doesn’t meet the specifications over the service life of the motorcycle. As a result, over increased mileage accrued noise and engine damage may occur. |
| MCAS0626 | 2026-02-05. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Return Trim Case Carrier |
| MCAS0926 | 2026-02-04. Other. POWER TRAIN. Return Clutch Cover |
| MC110125 | 2026-01-05. Service campaign. ENGINE. After a quality inspection it was found that due to improper machining, the right-side chain tensioner screwplug doesn’t meet the specifications over the service life of the motorcycle. As a result, over increased mileage accrued noise and engine damage may occur. |
| MCAS8925 | 2025-12-01. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Holder Return |
| MCAS7825 | 2025-11-03. Other. POWER TRAIN. Propeller Shaft Return |
| MCAS7925 | 2025-11-03. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Frame Guard Return |
| MC230125 | 2025-11-03. Service campaign. POWER TRAIN. In affected vehicles, an incorrect bolt may be installed in the clutch release lever of the ASA (AutomatedShift Assistant, SA 022A) transmission. This may result in premature wear to the bolt. At an advanced stage, this wear typically leads to noise concerns and may also cause clutch malfunctions. The affected vehicles have been placed under the delivery stop STOP230007 associated with campaign number 0023220000, which will be lifted upon completion of this technical campaign. |
| MC330524 | 2025-09-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; STRUCTURE:BODY. In some R 1300 model motorcycles, it has been detected that the rear wheel swingarm has play in theaxial direction. The mounting of the swingarm to the frame is comparable to the F and S model motorcycles. During the mounting of the swingarm axle, this creates different tensions from motorcycle to motorcycle pulling the frame together. Resulting in little to no axial play allowing axial movement on the swingarm axle. |
| MC460224 | 2025-07-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Calibration of one or both ride height sensors fail due to the ride height sensor/s are not positioned correctly. |
| MC330524 | 2025-07-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. In some R 1300 model motorcycles, it has been detected that the rear wheel swingarm has play in theaxial direction. The mounting of the swingarm to the frame is comparable to the F and S model motorcycles. During the mounting of the swingarm axle, this creates different tensions from motorcycle to motorcycle pulling theframe together. Resulting in little to no axial play allowing axial movement on the swingarm axle. |
| MC770325 | 2025-04-29. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. The Vario cases cannot be removed from the vehicle, or the case lids cannot be opened with the keys. To release the mechanism, both to open and to remove the case, the servomotor of the central lockingsystem must also be actuated. Depending on the position of the servomotor and the tolerance of the individual components of the locking mechanism, it could be possible that the key does not turn far enough in the “RELEASE” direction to reach the required end position of the servomotor. |
| MC340125 | 2025-04-29. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. One or both of the front brake caliper/s are leaking after sitting idle for long periods of time. They only leak atlow internal pressures. |
| MC610625 | 2025-04-18. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The comfort flashing function is deactivated in the instrument cluster settings, the function reactivatesautomatically after a few seconds. This means that comfort flashing cannot be deactivated. Due to a software error in I-level X001-25-03-505. |
| MC510125 | 2025-04-18. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When the vehicle key is recognized; however, the steering lock will not unlock and the keyless ride controlunit hums briefly. Continued analysis is required. |
| MCAS2525 | 2025-03-24. Other. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Control Module Return |
| MC330124 | 2025-03-11. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. The Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) chassis cannot be calibrated . Various causes can lead to thisfault. |
| MC330423 | 2024-09-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Driveshaft Maintenance Schedule Change |
| MC650324 | 2024-08-02. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Due to a software error, the smart phone with connected app is paired to the motorcycle, but the app does not connect to the motorcycle. |
| MC130121 | 2024-07-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Mainly sporadic, isolated but also permanent faults occur in the throttle grip sensor, throttle valve, crankshaft signal, camshaft signal, transmission signal, fuel pressure sensor, gear-lever sensor (GearShift Assistant), oxygen sensor and switching cam. These can result in functional impairments andmalfunctions, fault messages and fault memory entries. Besides isolated defective components, the sporadic faults are often mainly caused by contactproblems and increased contact resistances. These can generally occur along the entire signal pathof the respective affected component, but especially at plug connections. In this context, the plugconnection to the engine control unit has emerged as the main focus of the fault. Analyses of defective parts showed that in many cases the passivation (a production coating) of thepins at the plug-in contact (plug connection) of the engine control unit can result in correspondingfaults. A service solution for cleaning the pins has been created which can considerably improvecontact if implemented correctly. In most cases, this means that exchanging expensive componentslike the DME or the wiring harness can be avoided. |
| B611305 | 2024-02-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle “discharged battery” complaints. |
| MC160323 | 2023-09-18. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Vehicle goes into emergency operation mode and a warning light illuminates on the instrument cluster. |
| SIB630122 | 2023-05-15. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. LED headlights were temporarily unavailable from the Factory and some R 1250 GS and R 1250 GSAdventure units were built with the halogen headlight in order to ensure safe use. |
| SIB330222 | 2023-05-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT. Multiple factors may cause the driveshaft to become damaged; among them are corrosion in certain parts ofthe driveshaft, and wear and tear exacerbated by certain climatic conditions. |
