B3405172020-04-20. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; WHEELS; POWER TRAIN. TICKING NOISE WHILE CORNERING WITHOUT THE BRAKES APPLIED: This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 3) replaces SI B34 05 17 dated September 2017. Ticking noise coming from front wheel while cornering without brakes applied noticeable at low speeds. The vehicle must be moving. See attached video V34 01 20 Note: For a similar noise heard when parking with the brakes applied refer to SIB 31 01 12. Microscopic movement of the contact interface between the inner brake disc and the wheel bearing flange on vehicles equipped with lightweight brake discs.
B1109162018-12-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY:BELL HOUSING; POWER TRAIN. N63, N63TU, S63 and S63TU Engines: Oil Leak from the Rear of the Engine and Transmission Bell Housing. Customer complains that engine oil is leaking from the center of the vehicle. When verified, the engine oil residue can be seen leaking from between the engine and the transmission bell housing.
BMWAUG06162018-11-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. The delivery stop has been lifted for certain affected M vehicles produced from May 12, 2016 through July 4, 2016. While the delivery stop has been lifted, customers must sign a disclosure prior to delivery acknowledging the premature wearing of the rear axle differential. A copy of the disclosure form is attached and must be maintained in the customer?s deal jacket. Body of Disclosure:In the course of ongoing quality analysis, BMW has discovered that the disc in the rear-axle differential in the vehicle reference above wears out prematurely, causing loud noises. The remedy parts for the repair are not yet available. BMW of North America (?BMW NA?) will notify you when parts are available and advise you to schedule an appointment with your local BMW dealer to have the repair performed free of charge to you. To ensure that we have your most up-to-date contact information, please complete the information below. This may cause, in certain driving situations, excessive noise from the rear differential. AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action involves certain M2 Coupe, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe and Convertible, M5 and M6 (Gran Coupe, Convertible, and Coupe) produced from May 12, 2016 through July 4, 2016. Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as ""Open"" when checked either in AIR, the ""Service Menu"" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key Reader. You may receive some vehicles from the ports affected by this campaign that show the campaign as still open."
