Service bulletins for the 2022 BMW iX

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

117 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

B3201242024-04-01. Service bulletin. STEERING. When starting, a Check Control message will be displayed (“Steering behavior. Drive slowly and have this checked by the nearest Service Provider”) with a noticeable reduction in power steering support when maneuvering.
B6107242024-04-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work through process to address BEV/PHEV charging issues. The step-by-step guide will help walk you through the correct “basic” steps that should be followed when addressing and diagnosing battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) charging issues.
B6106242024-04-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work-through process to address customer charging complaints. The step-by-step guide will help walk you through the “basic” procedure to test the charger/infrastructure when the vehicle does not charge, either at a: Home charger AC Level 1/Level 2 - Flexible Fast Charger/hard wired Wallbox, or a Public AC Level 2, or DC Level 3 - Fast Charging Station Note: All PHEV and BEV vehicles may be affected.
B5202242024-04-01. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS; SEATS; AIR BAGS. The seat initialization and memory has been lost; Or Repeat failure of seat initialization after completing the test module via ISTA. One or both of the following check control messages (CCM) may be present: CCM 108 “Driver restraint system” CCM 109 “Passenger restraint system”
B6103242024-03-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Gen 5 BEV/PHEV vehicles may set the Combined Charging Unit (CCU) in programming abort due to nocommunication to the HV charge socket electronics.
B1205232024-03-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The customer states there is a Drivetrain Malfunction message displayed in the instrument cluster. In addition, the following fault memory entries are saved in the CCU (Combined Charging Unit) 0317F2 - High-voltage system, insulation fault detected: when switch contactors are closed. 0317F1 - High-voltage system, insulation resistance below warning threshold: when switch contactors are closed. The fault memory entries (isolation faults) can occur both individually and in combination and must be traced back to the eDrive motor based on the ISTA test procedure. If ISTA test procedure lists possible cause of fault as; A metal chip is found behind the brush module (between the brush module and the end shield of the electrical machine). Repair required. Refer to service solution no. 20000794435083 in Aftersales Information Research (AIR). Follow information in the Procedure section below.
B6123222024-02-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The Combined Charging Unit (CCU) may be affected by a manufacturing defect.
B6113052024-02-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle “discharged battery” complaints.
B5110222024-02-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Groaning noise in the front parcel shelf of the luggage compartment area. The noise is mostly head when the vehicle interior is cold.
B6542232024-01-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE. Quality improvements and robustness measures are to be implemented on the affected vehicles via thissoftware update. The software update improves functions in the following areas of the head unit: 1. Bluetooth connection issues and Bluetooth malfunctions (disconnections) 2. Central display may remain black in rare cases 3. Personalization issues and the loss of normalization/sitting position
B5110222024-01-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Groaning noise in the front parcel shelf of the luggage compartment area. The noise is mostly heard when the vehicle interior is cold.
B6534232023-12-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customers may state that the alarm system (DWA) is not active after locking their unoccupied vehicle. Depending on the vehicle’s equipment and settings, no acoustic or optical confirmation (folding the mirrors/blinking confirmation) is noticeable. Additionally, the red anti-theft alarm LED in the interior mirror does not briefly flash every 2 seconds, indicating the alarm is armed.
B6615232023-12-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Emergency Stop Assistant is activated. Thisicon will appear in the CID when this function is activated.

B6125232023-11-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The purpose of this Service Bulletin (SIB) is informational regarding DC (direct current) charging complaints on Gen 5 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). It serves as a supporting argument and is intended to help distinguish between a standard designed function or component operation from an actual system fault in a DC charging customer complaint (i.e., “DC Not charging or “DC charging too slow”. Helpful “Tips and Tricks” have been included on each topic within the document that can be used as reference to aid in the diagnosis or in understanding the system. The situation involves several possible causes: 1. Limitation of charging power by the charging station or charging app configuration. 2. Decreasing charging power at a very high state of charge (SoC). 3. Too frequent DC charging attempts within a short period of time. 4. The high-voltage battery is not at the ideal temperature. 5. Ageing of the high-voltage battery.
B6126232023-11-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. There may be erroneous fault entries for the electric fan (E-FAN) in the Combined Charging Unit (CCU) in iXM60 Sports Activity Vehicles built from February 18, 2022 – October 23, 2023.
B6605232023-11-01. Service bulletin. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; LANE DEPARTURE; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Various functions of the camera-based driver assistance systems (ADCAM system) can lead to customer complaints.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
