Service bulletins for the 2017 BMW F 800 R

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

269 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

B1119182019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective November 16, 2018) on Model Year 2019 BMW 5 Series, 7 Series and X5 SAV vehicles that have been produced between June 29, 2018 ? September 10, 2018. The issue involves the oil-to-water heat exchanger which can start to leak. Approximately 285 vehicles are affected by this delivery stop.

MC11001162018-12-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGS; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Coolant pump drain hose. Details The coolant pump is fitted with a radial shaft seal on the oil-side and on the coolant-side is a mechanical seal. Mechanical seals are reliable an durable, yet for technical reasons, they always exhibit minor seepage. The seepage amount is considered to be within permissible limits if the coolant does not need to be topped up between service intervals. The drain hole (arrow in the figure) of the coolant pump is in plain view. Even small, inevitable seepage is noticed and often perceived to be a faulty coolant pump. In many such cases, fault-free coolant pumps are replaced. In order to reduce misdiagnosis and repeat repairs, a drain hose is retrofitted. The hose diverts the seepage away from the field of view to under the engine. Yet large amounts of leakage that indicate a faulty coolant pump will be noticed.
B1111172018-12-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE. ?ENGINE LEAK DIAGNOSIS ON TURBOCHARGED V8 ENGINES. When diagnosing an engine oil leak or a coolant leak on turbocharged V8 engines it is necessary to use a borescope to identify if the source of the leak is from under the turbochargers. Engine oil or coolant leaking from the bell housing area or the front timing chain cover area may be caused by the turbocharger itself, a turbocharger oil/coolant feed line or turbocharger oil/coolant return line. Do not remove the transmission and do not dissemble the engine before performing this inspection. If necessary, use engine oil leakage detection dye.
B1704182018-11-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. DELIVERY STOP. LOW TEMPERATURE COOLANT SYSTEM.A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective October 16, 2018) on Model Year 2019 BMW 5 and 7 Series vehicles that have been produced from September 13-14, 2018. There is a possibility that the affected vehicles do not have the correct amount of coolant in the low-temperature coolant system. Approximately 3 vehicles are affected by this delivery stop that have already been delivered to dealers. Affected vehicles show the campaign as ?Open? when checked either in Warranty Vehicle Inquiry, AIR or ISPA Next and identified with the description: STOP013433 B170418 Delivery Stop: Low Temperature Coolant System. The bulletin will be updated with more information when it becomes available.
