Service bulletins for the 2013 BMW F 800 R
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| MC1100116 | 2018-12-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGS; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Coolant pump drain hose. Details The coolant pump is fitted with a radial shaft seal on the oil-side and on the coolant-side is a mechanical seal. Mechanical seals are reliable an durable, yet for technical reasons, they always exhibit minor seepage. The seepage amount is considered to be within permissible limits if the coolant does not need to be topped up between service intervals. The drain hole (arrow in the figure) of the coolant pump is in plain view. Even small, inevitable seepage is noticed and often perceived to be a faulty coolant pump. In many such cases, fault-free coolant pumps are replaced. In order to reduce misdiagnosis and repeat repairs, a drain hose is retrofitted. The hose diverts the seepage away from the field of view to under the engine. Yet large amounts of leakage that indicate a faulty coolant pump will be noticed. |
| 130612 | 2018-12-03. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. "N63 and N74 Engine: ISTA/D 2.33 Diagnostic Error in the Low-pressure Fuel Supply Sensor Value. INFORMATION When diagnosing the low-pressure fuel supply sensor with one of the following test plans and ISTA/D 2.33, an error will be encountered in the display. The value of the low-pressure fuel supply sensor will read 0 bar at all times. * B1214_DI6KNDR * D18KHDR * AT1214_DIKNDR * AT1214_DIKHDR Do not replace the low-pressure fuel supply sensor. The operating pressure of the low-pressure fuel supply sensor can found in ""DME Diagnostic Query"" using the following procedure: 1. Exit the test plan and return to the control unit tree. http://www.bmwtis.net/tiscode/cgi-bin/omcgi.exe?sie_path=/tsb/bulletins/htm_store/14907...11/7/2012 Page 2 of 2 2. Select ""DME"" in the control unit tree. 3. Select "" Call Up ECU Functions."" 4. Select ""Diagnostic Query."" 5. Select ""Fuel Pressure (Low Pressure)."" 6. Select ""Query Status."" The engine must be running to verify operation of the pressure sensor. The software error will be corrected in ISTA/D 2.34, scheduled for release in December 2012. " |
